I often think what if? What if i had unlimited access to all and any part ever created, what parts would i take to build my dream bike. It took some thought but here is what i came up with

PK Ripper Loop tail
SE Landing gear
Diamond back Pro Handlebars
Mongoose grips
Diamond back SR stem
uni seat and post
Diacomp MX1000 Brake
Diacomp Tech 4 Lever
Kool stop brake pads
Araya Aero 1.5 rims
Campagnolo super record hubs
double butted spokes
Tioga Comp II tyres
Redline Single pinch flight cranks (sealed bearings)
Flight Sprocket
Suntour XCII beartrap pedals
Tange seat clamp
Tange MX2 alloy headset

Although i have left out a couple of items like the chain im sure you get the idea of my dream bike, I know there is a lot more exotic stuff out there but im being honest to my memory from what i wanted BITD.
What was your dream bike BITD?

the Kuwahara guys are going to hate me, but I would say Hutch, of course being 12 years old and not having 800 dollars for a new pro racer I learned to like other bikes....Kuwi's were always sweet so I seemed to fall in love with those amazing Japanese bikes. Still have 5 of them today....today's dream bike for me is my LaserLite (which I have) and maybe a loop tail quad (always wanted one but couldn't afford again and still can't afford today)
Surf911S
Profile for me.,.,.,.,that why I have so manynow , count is at 8, and growing.
GEOV
Looptail PK. Which I have acumulated most of the parts for. Not going to be original but my spin on a PK. Will be posting picks as the build progresses.

My Cook Bros (not "Cooks Bros") is really close to the dream bike I always wanted. As is my Robinson. That leaves GJS. I have one, but it is not exactly how I would ultimitely build it. I would...

*Find some '70s GJS forks
*replace the Tuf Neck with a CBR stem
*find a black/yellow Haro lightning bolt plate
*replace the Sugino cranks with gold '70s 3 piece cranks
*replace the rims for gold 7c's
*replace high flange hubs with all gold Bullseyes
*replace tires with Comp IIs
*replace KKTs with Reedys

That should do it.

That one you just described! lol

A circa '80-'81 PK Ripper (aluminum).

Only differences, Sugino or SE Cranks and possibly GT Handle bars with a laid back seat post w/a Tuff Neck.
No pads, but a Haro plate.
Oh! And Snakebelly Tires!

Colors?
Either Gold or Blue (accessories, rims, hubs, crank star, pedals, brakes, etc...).

Other bikes I'd like to own? Mint condition vintage Mongoose, Diamond Back, Redline. Just to "own" them.

I was actually going to post a thread JUST like this.

Same deal here G...just like my original PK.

First thing I did when I got it was tear it apart and customize it.

I want to do the same thing with another vintage PK Frame.

I also want to get a new PK F&F and built it up but as a modern monster.

I was trying my best to "not" post a pic of my "non-BMX" bike, but I just couldn't resist.
It's oval tube reminds me so much of my PK.
Today, I had her out on the #3 rated urban mountain trail in the nation.
Then I took it out on a small track.
Put in a good 16 mile run.

But that right der is sah-weet! If I had that PK on the track, I would've done a hundred times better with my jumps!

My old PK was my dream bike.
When I sold it, it had Campy graphites. I wish I still had it.
rsrichie
It would seem the PK is certainly a popular choice, is it possiably the most sought after and coolest bike ever made.
Cook Bros Seeker
I had a CBR with all Campy parts. I rebuilt one, but thing it has in commone with my "dream bike" is Campy cranks and of course, the frame.

Although not that exotic, I always wanted a Team Jag (with the Gusset). I remember going into the LBS BITD with my Ross Snapper (Z-Rims) drooling over the Jag that had the suede seat, Durace cranks, etc... Still looking for a Jag today.

I see I wasn't the only one with a Ross Snapper. I had a black frame. This was my first true BMX bike. I have a black Jag ( with the Gusset ) still at my parents house.

Back on topic: My dream bike would have to be an Red or Gold FMF with all the goodies of course.

My dream bike would be an early JMC 24 with the bladed forks, JMC FAB bars, an inverted Pro Neck, A'me fini grips, Bullseye hubs with chrome Araya 7x's, Profile second gen cranks, with Hutch pedals, and chrome MX1000 brake, with the early curved Mathauser pads.

Chrome frame/fork with a red/blue color scheme. Top it off with a JMC Wizard plate.

The JMC 24 is one of the nicest 24's ever made. (In my opinion)

Thankfully I had 2 BITD & now my only 1 BMX bike is my prized low ser # '82 Patty W/ Graphites (Kool Kapped ) I had always wanted Profiles back then but Flights were more common so I ran a set of those , couldn't afford a set of Profiles today so I'm on the list for the 30th anniv. Profiles . If I had more resources a GJS would be right up there .

There was a used Patterson PR-200 in my LBS back in Illinois BITD that I really wanted, but didn't have the scratch to afford. It was only 3 hundred something, and had been raced but was in great shape. Had Patty everything: f/f, bars, seat post, pads. One piece cranks and I think orange DX's. An orange Tuf-Neck, and I forgot what rims...Arayas, maybe?

Funny thing was, I was never a racer. But I did some jumping at the trails, and that plus just riding around was what I wanted it for. Never did score that one...

I was able to " have " my dream bike bitd !!! it wasn't this nice , but was almost exactly the same parts.

Blessed to own my dream bike now, took 25 years to get one, but is my all time fave!, claude

My dream bike way back when was a red anodized FMF with Red Line forks, Mongoose Gold stem, Red Line V-bars, Campy cranks, Araya 7-B's and Oakley grips. It took me 30 years but I finally built it. Well, except for the Campy cranks.

My dream bike was always the Diamondback Turbo. I had always thought of it as mythological and never would have dreamed of asking my parents for one. I had only remembered seeing one once at GNO Cyclery in New Orleans, I think. I was in awe at the time and I think I was 12. 24 years later, they are still myth, but at great personal expense, I have one of these myths sitting in my spare bedroom.
