A friend of mine picked this up last night. He plans to put it up on Ebay tonight. Looks to be almost all the original parts.

That's a great find. My brother had one like that in 1981.

My first guess would be a Kuwi KYZ, chromo triangle and steel rear.
But nevertheless a nice survivor.

Few weeks ago i aquired a Shogun-hot heart. Same frame but the gusset with a heart instead the round hole.

He said he looked up the SN online and its a 81 KZ1. All the parts are Suntour. I don't know much about them myself.

there is a guy on ebay that does really nice repop decal sets, too.

That is a full cro-mo KZ1.
Almost factory apart from the seat, grips and pads.
