Full Version: How many parts to a BMX Bike
VintageBMX.com > Announcer's Tower > Announcements Heard By All
MikeCarruth
I am putting this in "Announcer's Tower" because it could apply equally to Racing, Freestyle and New or Old school.

I am working on the categories for BMXBID.COM and wanted to make sure I had them all.

Does anyone have a complete list?

Thanks!

how many clips and swivel pieces in a chain? We talking nuts, bolts and washers too?

FYI...

There is 188 licks to the center of a Tootsie pop.

We're talking anything that is production and could be purchased...so if there are rim strips that companies sell, then yeah, that would be in there. Whereas individual links in a chain are not sold separately (well, except for "master links" if they still have those).

Best,

The only thing I would add to this list that hasn't been added already is:

Hubs.
Spokes.
Spoke nipples.

Can't roll without 'em happy.gif

Loose ball bearings
# of bearings depends on hub type but 9 per side is about average

Other than for sale puposes, how many individual parts are there? In the sense that if you were to put together a bike, how many parts are being put on? Then if you count lacing your own wheels that's even more. You could go even more crazy and have your pedals disassembled, brakes, hubs too. Thats a pretty impressive number of parts to deal with and totaly useless trivia info.
