Thought I'd start a separate topic because organising these can take a few posts.

I'm fairly flexible on weekends and even Wed-Fri depending on work and in Ivanhoe. Happy to go to tracks, parks or just hang around the streets if there's a few interesting things to jump etc or maybe call into a skatepark for a bit then head around some streets. eg city skatepark then around South Melbourne/Port Melbourne/Docklands.

If we do a track then it needs to be on a day that they aren't racing there as the tracks are closed. The following comments are only my opinions and others will no doubt not agree with them. As far as tracks go, if you want something just to have a play around on some jumps and not look to set new records for lap times I like Park Orchards, Lilydale, South Eastern, Knox, Eastfield in that order. That order is based on having a bit of fun jumping without having to put your life on the line to clear doubles, quickly recover from one jump before you hit the next etc.

Perhaps we just list out preferences and take it from there?

i'm down for meeting in the city.. riding down stkilda road to the deaf and blind institute for the kicker there... or there's blasting on chapel st on a sat/sun arvo through the traffic... always a fun ride then onto the ESPY for some beers out the front... back into town to train it home... thoughts?

i'm much more a social rider than a die hard BMXer these days... although i can hold my own if i had to ... my old man knees arent up to taking the lightest of impacts. (i hate you skateboarding)

Well I am happy to ride anywhere, but somewhere in the city would suit me best as it's the easiest to get to. Would like to cruise some skateparks too. Sat afternoon or Sundays the only time I'm likely to be free.

yeah for sure.... riverslide is always prettty busy on weekends... newport skatepark has a nice miniramp + bowl as well which is nice to ride on.... thats only a short ride from Newie train station too

Definitely more social that hardcore. Looking back I think I probably spent more time sitting on the seat yabbering away rather than riding anyway.

I want to learn a few flatland things so any carpark/flat surface is also fine by me.

Namza, that photo is of Marty (Mr.BMX) not me. I was not racing at the titles (another injury) and I think I went on the Saturday and you were there on the Sunday.

Anyway, let's aim for something on Sunday 25 May, Saturday 31 May or Sunday 1 June. A quick check of the BMX Victoria calendar shows races at Bendigo and Geelong which for Namza's benefit are both an hour or two from Melbourne metro area. How about say 1:00pm meet at the City skatepark and go from there. People can train into Flinders station or drive. Head down St Kilda road as suggested and just do a circle either clockwise or anti-clockwise. I'm sure were can find some places to raise a bit of hell.

Can people put their preferences. I'm available any of those days.

Geelong is about 45 minits to an hour drive from Werribee. I see if I can drive there str8. My bro and family mebbe like to follow me too. I'll confirm again onced I touch down Melbourne.

The others are around a bit. I see Dirtboy posted his cruisers down in the retro section earlier this week. Dugga is around but I haven't seem him post lately. Busy chasing children around I guess.

Got hit by a car on my regular commute to work last week, and injured my shoulder.
But I am still keen to come and have a bit of a pedal around, just won't doing anything too radical.
(that's my excuse anyway).

Still come onetwofive. We're not going to be doing anythig wild. Everyone else is welcome and if the weather is like today (once it warms up) is should be good.

Good ride last Sunday two 20s and two 24s with Geoff, Andy n James-no broken bikes & no broken bones. James got the votes with repeated rock walks in full view of civilians!
Ive got a suggestion for the next ride-StKilda this Sunday to pop into the swap meet next to Luna Park-just never know what youll pick up.

Love the rock walk! Next time I hope my shoulder / back is better so I can actually ride a bit better, it was painful just bunny-hopping a gutter, but was no worse the next day at least.

Yes it was a good time and pretty happy to be able to pull a rock walk without using brakes. Around 25 years since I did one of those. Thought I had lost it for good. I won't mention how sore my lower back was Sunday evening. Just the price we pay I suppose.

I went for a ride last Sunday at the Flemington banks. I always have fun riding there. Lots of concrete banks, plenty of flat concrete, and it also has that "under freeway" ambience. Theres even a couple of dirt jumps there, a fun place to ride if anyone's interested.

Might be due for another ride guys James,Geoff,Andy you too Broke and I also wanna see Howie on his PK. A couple of suggestions, Sat 28th at Sunbury track for the bmx clinic, Or Geoff prev suggested Flemington Banks(I better not show any seatpole!!) or maybe meet the following Sunday for the Swap Meet in St Kilda. Yeah def the swap meet. Well?

Yeah I am up for a ride, don't mind where really. You don't need to worry about the seat pole, every time I have been at flemington I have been the only only one there, apart from the occasional skater.

Last time I was at northern park track on my mid-school dyno, some young kids there decided to mock me and put their seats right up & do some laps, they thought it was hilarious.

Maybe due for a ride sometime soon with this great warm dry weather!!! Anyone keen?
