I'd rather have molds of the old Schwinn Scrambler block tire first. When one of those comes on E-bay it's a bidding frenzy. I loved those tires, they sounded so cool running down smooth concrete. If someone repoped those I'd pay 50 bucks for one

I can't remember what the original Goose tires looked like? Do you mean the ones that looked like the Cycle pro Snake Belly's? Or the ones that look like Comp 2"s? Or something totaly different. Post a pic.

Yeah the old Goose tire that was like a Snake Belly. Love the grips on the Blue Max. Gotta love the Blue Max, I never actually rode one. We were given Eric Rupe signature frames with Blue Max stickers. I don't even have one of those left, I should have kept my last one. Of which I sold to Chris Cole in about 1993. Never thought about it as a collector piece, somebody kick me now! I also was contacted by Rupe not to long ago, he does not have one either and is looking for one.

Yeah, I forgot about that one. YES I do have it, with the Turbo hubs. It needs some cleaning up but otherwise in good shape. I'll get some pics up. Till this day it is a good riding bike. Great geometry.

I know I've talked about doing these and have had some great feedback. We have approval from the owner of the Mongoose brand and we are going to move forward with the re-issue Mongoose grips. They WILL BE MADE FROM THE SAME MOLD as was used BITD. We will be making Black, Red, and Blue for starters. We'll get our samples early next week for color verification and after that it's off to the races.
Below is a picture of THE mold to verify they will be the a authentic re-issue grip.

I'LL TAKE TWO RED PAIR A.S.A.P.
THAT'S A GREAT JOB

Shannon,
Can't wait! Hurry Up!
I'm using original yellow Oakley II's on my rider. They are wearing pretty good. Bought them NOS on EBay. They weren't cheap especially to use on a rider.
BITD I ran red Oakley II's and red Mongoose grips on my Team Jag. It's the only grips I want to use on my bike since it's a loose copy of my childhood bike. Have you seen what red Oakley II's go for? So you guys are providing us with a great product for those of us that want to ride our vintage bikes.

Guys,
I want to apologize on the shipping situation. I'm going to take a bath on the first shipments as it seems the post office is checking weight and Priority Mail is not cheap. I've made adjustments on shipping which kicks in when you purchase grips which have to be shipped in a box. If you are overseas, my recommendation to by extras as gifts (joke).
I'd love to offer surface shipping but my experiences with it are not good. Decals are easy, they fit in the flat mailers but I haven't figured how to fit grips in an envelope yet.

I apologize if this question was asked earlier: Are the Repro's made of a softer compound than the old ones? I am hoping they are! The old ones were brutal....Probably be still here when the world ends. Well old mongoose grips, twinkies and cockroaches.

I've got Waza (www.vintagemongoose.com) sitting here next to me and he says that they feel better than Ame' grips. They are a softer compound than the originals but the colors are a dead match.
Waza is in town for a couple of days before we fly out to Rockford on Thursday.

Hi Bill...if you want to save on the shipping for me you could allways send the grips back to Australia with Waza and he could send them to me once he's in the country....if it's ok with Waza? Let Waza know for me that the deal i had going with the pattersons is going to fall through cause the owner is going to list them on ebay...so i've got buckley's of winning either of them. Thanks for the leed on the Pattersons though Waza. I was so happy until i was told they we're going on ebay

I almost had one!! LOL. Pattersons are harder to find than a vintage wheel trueing machine!! LOL. (joke for Waza) Let me know about the mailing of the grips though, cause if you do it that way i might grab a red set as well please. I hope this helps out a little and it's great to see Waza havin' a good time.

To all the Aussie guys:
Shipping on these grips is around $23.00US tracked etc. so waza is going to bring back a quantity of grips to save the aussies guys on shipping. So if you want some grips get in contact with waza. Grips will be the same price as Bill is selling them at.
He asked me to post this up as he has no computer access for a few days.
