Hey Reece,
Thanks for the heads-up on the grip deal with Waza. I sent him an e:mail at waza.net and received a note back.
He's a class act - no doubt Waz is one of the most genuine and generous guys going around in this hobby.
And can I say again to everyone involved in this reissue what a fantastic thing this is for all the Goose fans out there. Next best thing to having a time machine!

Maybe there should be a limit on how many a person can buy at Rockford to keep the Bogarts from hording the whole stash, and giving everyone a fair shot at a set

You said Bogarts. LOL!!! I haven't heard that in years. LOL!!!!

Mybe I missed it, but how did you guys come upon those grip molds?
Is there more tooling from BITD out there?
I think it's an incredible find and I bet the story behind is just as amazing.
Thanks, Dan.

We did our research, located the original maker of the Mongoose grips. He informed us he still had the OG molds and sent us a picture to verify. We had already had a licensing deal with Pacific (owners of Mongoose and GT Bicycles) for decals and such. We then added an amendment to contract for the grips and we were off to the races.
Sooooo, to make a long story short. The Re-Issue Mongoose grips are made in the same place, by the same company, by the same guy, in the same molds they were made in from '79 to '85. We have marked them on the flange with an "R" to state they are a re-issue. They are also made out with a softer modern day rubber. A lot nicer on the hands and something you could even use on a modern day racer. Order up a set, and grab some decals while you're at it, you won't be disappointed.

hey Bill, here's what I got. But all I had to do was click continue to website. I was havin a brain fart and didn't see it at first. lol.
There is a problem with this website's security certificate.
The security certificate presented by this website was not issued by a trusted certificate authority.
The security certificate issue has been corrected. When I setup the site, the certificate was supposed to be installed by my web host and it was not done correctly. I installed it myself and the problem went away.

Guys,
Just recieved 2 pairs from Bill yesterday. They looks great indeed.
But sadly, they are all in Right side with "R" stamped inside the flange.
So anyone could tell me if they were only made out from "R" mold?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Cheers
Natty

"R" means REPRODUCTION... This was done to make sure peps didn't try to sale them as NEW OLD STOCK. Hope this helps Natty.

QUESTION
So I have 2 DeCosters, and one Competition.
Should I get the grips for all 3 bikes or just the Goose? (of course Shannon and Bill will say all 3)
What to do?
