WILD ZEBRA
All right I was trying to wait because I have a photog friend who took some amazing pics of my guitars and I wanted to get a pic of this too, I'll just have to post that one later when I get together with her.

So before and a little history, Welp my brother raced in PA BITD and was sponsored by Hills Dept store and he got a not too fancy Redline and I'm sure he always longed for a higher end bike and a friend of his Jason Medesto (sp. You out there) had a pink Hollywood so of course like a lot of us we wante one. Well flash forward to 94 my brother traded a cheap Strat for this Purple Reign Hollywood and he loved the hell out of it and we all found old school rides and cruised our little arses off. Well he met a chick and up and left to Colorado a few years later and I acquired the Hutch and I rode that thing through hell and high water and trashed it. It stayed outside a few winter days was locked up for days at a time after drunking debauchery on campus etc, etc. I even sold it for 60 bucks hahahhahah only to get it back a few months later cause the kid only rode it once. That was a close one. Well my brother never had enough of telling me "Man that bike was so awesome when I got it and you thrashed it" SO the reason I joined here so long ago was to restore this ride I just got it back from Chip. Chip thanks so much awesome job awesome dude keep up the good work. Well I still need some parts so if you guys see me posting in the wanted section help a bro out wink.gif

Ok before I get a hard time on the decals especially the downtube and nora cup. I measured exactly where they were before and put the new ones right back there. So thats how the stonebyrd did it at the factory some 20 years ago. Mistakes were bound to happen, but to tell you the truth the downtube is bugging the hell out of me so I'm looking for a replacement (shameless plug)

So enough blabbering

well now looking at the pics maybe not exactly where they were man that DT sticker is bugging me badly. I'll have to replace it. Let me know.

Wow, you did trash that thing.....looks great now though.

That purple rein looks great..... stickers do need some help. But you'll get to that.

Now slap on some wheels, and cranks and get out and ride it again... ( this time don't abuse though)..

I can't believe how hard it's been to find another downtube decal. Man you think out of the whole world I could find one. Yep just a few parts away cranks, pedals, seatpost clamp, chainring, headset. Wow when I list them it sounds like a lot more. I have a freefoem X with real nice Arayas but one has a tiny bump, but I think I'll use them anyway cause I just can't afford a set. If I clean it and put it on the front probably never notice, the brake rub brings it out. Anyone know if these sumos http://cgi.ebay.com/20X1-75-SIL-SUMO-SIL-K...Q2em118Q2el1247 are like the old sumos that were basically 7x knock offs cause I can live with those for the sake of getting this together.
svt_pony
I used some Sumo's on my TA for a year or so. They'll work great for a while.

I've bought a few sets over the years. They do nicely in a pinch. Yes, they're the 7X lookalikes. Used to be able to get 'em for $50, LOL...

Still WAAAYYY less than the Arayas and you can actually ride them.
WILD ZEBRA
Hey thanks for the info Agentheinz. I guess I'll have to grab some hoops then. I'm on a budget and yes Arayas are way out of it.
