I have a Specialized mtb I'm trying to find a year. everyone tells me you can't, I think that's bull. it
is a "S" works chromoly frame/fork set thst came with seat post and stem. my buddy said you could only get it as a frame/fork combo only. it's gray with blue and purple decals on it. if anyone can help,
let me know.

Bob post a pic of it, I bet someone around here had one bitd and can tell the year the got it.

what size is the head tube? 1" or 1.25"?

The shop I used to work at still has a collection of catalogs since they've sold Specialized from the early '80s -- That's the way to check.

I can't remember the year for yours, butI think it was around the early '90s. Unless you know someone with a catalog collection, I can take a look if I go by there soon.

(I had several Stumpjumpers and S-Works bikes from '83 to now.)

Is it straight gray or sort of purpley gray? If it is, it could be 1995.

It did come f/f but was also available with XT, XTR, or XTR Hot Rod kits.
