I built it for my son who has been bugging me to build him an old school bike so I put this together for him. He rode it literally one house down the block and said it felt weird and did not like it. So I humbly rode the bike down the block myself jumped a driveway curb for fun and put it in the house to rest.

THE PARTS

Hatta headset
Tuff Neck seat clamp

Nice. Based on the seat mast decal, that's an early pre-serial # frame (1982).

Nice bike..liking the gold highlights! Did you have a cyclone at your house?

yeah, nice bike...whats up with the pictures? LOL

Nice composition. I feel sad for the Hutch that was discarded and left by the trash.

this bike was built for a junk bike buildoff contest on another sight, where u had to use only parts that were laying around no nos or mint parts, and picture creativity was part of the judging

I was kind of wondering the same thing.

Disregard, question answered.

Ahh, I thought it was a spare parts build.

Oh jeez, check my post under Tech for pink hutch stickers. I am doing the same thing. for nothing maybe? ohmy.gif

Try changing the seat, and bring the handlebars in a little, Maybe the wheels are too narrow?

The bike was built for a nine yr old that is why the parts are the way they are, it should almost feel like riding a cruiser to us, witht hat late take off feel on the jumps. real smooth and not jitterery

Thats actually a bad [please review the site FAQs] little bike.

That is a nice Hutch and I like the creative photos.

I'm sure your story is typical although my son (who you met at CNJ Sunday) happens to like to ride the bikes I've built (he's only 6 and I've thoroughly brainwahsed him though). He has a new school Quadangle wtih pegs, but he complains it is too heavy to "do jumps" and likes the light weight of the old bikes.

Personally, I don't understand how teenagers (who happen to be almost adult size) like to ride the heavy tanks with way too low handlebar height. Anytime I ride my son's Quad I feel like I'm going to flip over the handlebars.
