If you know your MTB history, these bikes were the bikes to have in the mid-90's. I bought this & my wifes Animal brand new in 96'. They served us well on many a Moab, Wyoming, race action, MTB crits, you name it, I got my moneys worth out of it. I even downhilled raced it with the original Noleen forks on it & placed mid-pack in my class. A few years ago I found these triple clamp forks on Ebay for nothing & slapped them on. I really haven't ridden the bike much over the past 3 or so years as I think the frame or swingarm is going to leave me stranded on the trail one day. I didn't ride it once last year.
My wife bought a new bike 2 years ago & Iv'e just been borrowing a friends when I want to ride or race. Soooo......
I'm getting ready to try to commute again to work in a few weeks as the weather warms up so I decided to put some slicks on my Proflex & see how it works.

Boy, was I surprised! It rode like a dream & was pretty fast on the pavement. It handles waay better than my road bike. I was able to make use of an old bike plus I stole the wheels off of the old Animal. I'll bolt on my seatpost rack I bought awhile back, put some new flashers on it & I should be ready to roll. I'm looking forward to making up alot of time I missed last year on the trails & the road. I only got out ONCE all last year! rolleyes.gif
