4x on drive side with 26 spokes and radial laced on non drive with 12 spokes. xt seven speed cartridge with a 8 spd xtr cassette that had the larger gears removed so that a suntour xc pro small three ring threaded would fit on making it a eight speed. WOW i confused myself...their point was to sell a 8 spd with their wheel sets. shimano hadn't released the 8 spd cartridge for sale yet. pretty cool how they solved their problem. front had radial laced.
