I posted this in one of the other forums, but I think this might be the more appropriate place:

I'm thinking about building a 26-inch cruiser. Who makes a good cruiser bar these days? (Crupi, maybe?) Also, I'm up for suggestions on 26-inch rims and 26-inch BMX-type tires. I'm thinking maybe Ryno-Lites for rims, since they seem to work well on my downhill MTB. Any other suggestions? Any suggestions for tires? I don't think they make 26-inch Comp III's, which would be cool.

I used to run free agent bars bitd [late 80s] i liked the sweep they had .
I just got the crupis on ebay and they have 13 degrees of backsweep -its taken awhile to get used to them ,but a friend of mine has s&m bars i think they are 10 -11 degrees of sweep and they felt perfect .I may try a set of the s&m at later date but the crupi bars are ok ..

I'm running S&M Race cruiser bars and love them. I also have Ryno lites (24in) and love them.

the s & m bars are so comfy. as far as rim go, i have always had the best luck with mavics for 26". the welded and machined side walls rule. they make for a pretty strong wheel. the 719s are nice but high in price. the 319s seem to work well for me. i used a set of 221s for my last wheel set, but those are getting hard to find.

I have S&M Gay bars now. Great bar but I have the slam bars on another bike. I would reccomend these two. S&M makes the best bars. As for rims, ryno lites are great except my chrome is flaking off after 5 years. Good luck
