Seen some past threads on these...not sure if i ended up picking up something one of you guys previously owned. I give the bikes condition a 9 out of 10. I have the fusion pegs too, but they aren't on it right now. Sweet rides...just not really my thing tho...something about the paint...i like em chrome! Anyways...i think its a 1997 since it says the frame is 4130 chromoly...i think the earlier ones were trimoly at best...

looked thru my old dealer ctalogs. yep, it's a '97. deceptive decals, though, as it is only 1 tube CRMO - the seattube (common practice at the time) .

dam those haro guys...what years was the zippo made? Was it always non-chromoly all the way...was it the blammo that was true 4130 all tubes?

yeah, the Zippo was never all CRMO. the Blammo wasm though.

I have that exact same frame and on the seat tube the stickers says 100% chromoly.

My seat tube stickers says

the loophole back then was that as long as the actual tube the decal was on was CRMO, that was all that counted. so, what they exploited on your frame was that the seattube was 100% CRMO. everyone took advantage of that loophole - from BMX to MTB to road to hybrid...

that deceptive loophole has since been legally closed.

I stand corrected and take it back. HUDSON is correct, that is also what my seat tube stickers says.

how they used the CRMO label and also how they used the "made in USA" lables back then was crap. we'd get new bikes (all styles) in at the shop that said it was "such & such" and we'd be like, "BS...that bike isn't/wasn't ________!!!".
