I have asked this before. Maybe I will have some luck this time. Ntalie cole made a song in the 80's JUMPSTART MY HEART But the genereal guys were in the video. Yes it was a crappy song, but from what iI rember the riding was pretty cool. If anyone can find the video, i would be grateful. I have tried youtube but no luck.

Wow I think I just heard that song the other day. She sure does sound a lot like Vince Neil.

What's up pauly!! I am really to find that video. It had the general guys in NYC, I was reading the Mike Carruth thread and he mentioned the general team in nyc. Wonder ifthat was around the same time. I remember Fred blood in the video.

I would imagine she should have a dvd out of her songs/videos. Maybe try searching ebay or some online record shops; FYE, Sam Goody, Best Buy, etc.

I used to ride with Kearny in Washington Square Park around '87-'88.
Man, what a hack he was. But his Dad was like, a congessman or something.
He kept saying things like,
"I don't do over-the-bike tricks (cherrypickers), too dangerous"
And, "I'm heading out to Cali to hook up with some sponsors".
What a weirdo. Next thing I know there he is in the magazines
riding with RL on the General team.
Guess his pop really was a big deal.
That was a sort of low point
in my BMX lifestyle,,,,
Anyhow, if anyone was to link that vid, I'd love to see it.
Looked around a little myself, no luck.

Wow, really? He did get quite a bit of coverage in the magazines and was sponsored, etc., so I always thought he was good. Never saw him ride, though, and obviously never rode with him. Also, I seem to remember a photo of him doing a cherry picker, kind of giving the camera the "thumbs up" sign. Who knew?

yeah, that's why it was weird. He just didn't do that stuff during casual riding.
Maybe he's a member or visitor here, and I don't want to step on any toes.
But I'm totally honest. This all went down exactly like I said.
It's no biggie to me. He was a nice enough guy. But y'know.
Just another guy. If anyone else remembers Wash Square
in the mid 80's please chime in.

Speaking of bmx in videos I happened to catch an early Kid Rock video recently with some good midschool action. Cool flatland and a few halfpipe shots. I saw first gen Q-bars so I'm guessing it was early 90s... I think the song was called "U don't know me"??

Just watched that Kid Rock video on YouTube and I have to say I have never seen that before. I believe that is Kevin Jones doing the flatland

Whoa! Yeah! Jumpstart my heart, no, no, never stop!
Wait, that's not the right song is it? Ant, can't say I've ever seen that one... sorry. I might have to start watching the 80's channel on Comcast Digital now though.

Funny you bring General up. I was checking out a video they put out the other day. It had Fred Blood, Brian Belcher, and highlights from the MSG contest in I believe 1985 or 86.
I remember seeing some of Pete Kearney's runs and he always looked pretty good to me. Maybe once he made the move out to CA and started riding with some of those guys, his riding style picked up.
