There is no way to distinguish a build date with serial#s on a PK. Looptails are 84 and earlier

Post a pic of the frame and fork. Depending on its configuration you can get a range of years.

I would say that with the serial number being so high, it is most likely an 84. At some point, someone put 2nd gen gray drip decals on it.

I remember reading somewhere the PKs only had straight chainstays for one year? Just cant recall which year!!

Only one year of straight chainstays as a NON looptail. That was 85. All the looptails were straight chainstay frames, which were from 79-84.

what's going on with that drivetrain? Is that a chainring bolted to a
flight sprocket? That whole bike is kinda freakin me out.

It is pretty freaky.Tommorow is my day off so i can strip it all down and see whats what.Hopefully i can ship it out to be repaired soon.Just need to find someone to do it.Ive emailed a couple of people with no responses

it's a mid-school Redline spider/chainring (looks like the crank, too).

Those are the two people that i emailed.hopefully i will get some reply.i think the cranks and the bars came off a late 80s redline.
