Hey Guys,
I was wondering your thoughts on these. Has anyone seen a set before? They are NOS and the first set I have ever seen! How Rare is the question to ponder...

probably pretty rare. front more so than rear.
figure, they didn't make white for very long before the switch to molded hubs (front changed before the rears did, in general).
if most shops were like where i was, we sold thru the alloy hub versions before we put the new ones out for sale. i would guess most were actually sold/ridden since white was the hottest seller then. i doubt many became dead stock.
i don't know how long Skyway continued to produce coasters with a riveted hub, but we were still getting them direct until about 1990. that was when we got our first moulded-hub coaster Tuff 2.

Rare white Tuffs?
Freewheel on the RL

And coaster on the Haro. I had a un-brake on this. Look realy close, yes it`s a steel hub back there.

I know that alloy coaster/alloy flange tuffs in white are not really that hard to find if you look hard enough, but I am talking NOS!

The ones on the Haro were NOS but that didn`t stop me from doing the blue on it. lol. I restored the ones on the 20II, went to Rockford, then sold them to James. You know they`re nice if James buys them. That was back in 04, I think.
But still NOS is rare in white. I seen other colors but white.......you did good Dan.

I ran a set just like that back in the day on one of my Hutch's. I always liked tuff wheels. My buddy David Ruz had the only set of graphites with a coaster brake that were made I think. Andy Patterson talked Skyway into making him a set. Needless to say he doesn't have them anymore, too bad. If someone could find those, that would cool to have. Woody.

NOS?! If you ask me those are ridiculously rare and a thing of utter beauty. Granted I'm partial to white alloy-flanged Tuffs, but I've never seen such a pristine pair. If you ever consider selling those (to finance the down payment on a new house, let's say) just let me know (lol).

I sure wish Skyway would make those again. I know they have their reasons, but dang, those look a thousand times better than the molded hubs. I bet with the market the way it is now, they'd sell like mad...

I remember using the coaster brake on those. You'd always have to take the little back roll into effect. When you did a ramp stall, you'd like the coaster, then boom, then the pedals would roll back a bit.. Always thought that kind of sucked.. But they are NOS... that's what makes them rare.

We pulled from the same shop two sets of white coaster NOS tuff II`s,this was this past year. The fronts were the molded style though.
They were part of this haul
