Okay, I think Renegade was formed after Supercross was closed.

The tracks I remember are Plantation, Pevely next to American Can Company, Supercross (St. Charles on the Missouri Bottom Rd I do believe). There was also a track called Rad West that raced on Friday nights. This would also be the NBL years of the St. Louis time.

Bill Brewer, yup...that name I know. How about Travis McGee or Derek and Zoe Fink.

I remember seeing John Piant at Plantation several times.

Alton and Collinsville had tracks, and there was indoor racing
in I think, Belleville. All in IL.

You may remember some friends of mine, Rodney Rice and
Roger Bassman. They were pretty serouis about racing back then.

I remember the group of racers from out there. Zoe Fink sounds familiar, not sure but was David Schnick from that track? I raced those guys BITD and remember them but cant think of their names. Plantation, if i remember right that track had the oddest chemical smell overcasting it when we were there. I remember that group of St Louis guys, they were all in my gate each side of me during a state champoinship or qualifer. I have pics back in KC somewhere.

Never had the pleasure to race either one of those in Collinsville or Alton. That is unless they called it Sikeston because that was a close city to Alton.

Indoor racing in Ill, I do remember, but never actually ran a race that was an actual track with jumps. The only indoor racing I remember in Ill was in a barn and the track was nothing more than a couple of U shape lines drawn with wooden jumps. The starts were even old school without a gate so you had to keep 1 foot down. Raced that a couple of times, but that was it.

Rod and Roger, I may not have known them by their names. Did they ride for someone?

Here is another name: Larry Reifstect JR (spelling is off a bit I'm sure).

Schnick, name sounds familiar...what did he ride? Do you remember? Was he 14 or 15x?

Zoe rode as a 12x to??? When ever he stopped racing. Derek was his older brother. There was a guy use to be called Worm and rode a Profile and a guy that went by Thor. I was 12x to 15x between 86 and 89 and raced against Zoe along with another cat named Chris who moved to GA I believe.

Richard Roth also rode out of St. Louis, but moved to Cali later on...

Yeah, it was a barn all right. Horses and cows and everything.
Of course it was silly but you could race in the winter. And some
guys could get some sick tricks over those wood jumps.

Alton may have been closed by '85. I was on the east coast by
then so I'm not sure. Sikeston was a different track that I
never got to, racing wasn't too important for me.

Collinsville was pretty much a downhill. The first straight was
like a fifty yard drop to a HUGE hairpin berm.
I mostly went there to jump overtop of that berm for big air.
Learned my Judge-style tabletops there.

Good times. biggrin.gif
