Has any body heard from Ron Stebbin the freestyle promoter from the mid eighties?

He lives in San Diego, CA. My buddy Dennis still talks to him all the time. Woody.

Back in the mid 80's when freestyle was exploding across the world, My plate company started doing the same...

I became pretty good friends with Ron from the early days of freestyle... But as soon as everything took off like wildfire we went our separate ways... me with racing and well you know his story...

I remember the last time I saw him... We spoke briefly in front of the elevators at the hotel that was connected to the convention center for the NBL Christmas Classic in 1986 he just flew in to promote a show and I was heading to the track.

I would love to be able to get a message over to him to say hi.

I have to throw this in. Woody you might not and probably do not remember this. back in 87 or 88 at the wayne nj afa contest . I tried a decade (me and my bro's snuck into the practice area) Let's just say it did not go well. As I lay there in a heap, I remeber the look on your face. You tried not to laugh, but I think Iwas laughing at myself. btw still can't do a decade!!!!!!!!

And by the way... I am a big fan of yours... Even if freestyle crashed the industry in the late 80's

I do remember the Patterson NJ contest, but barely. I remember riding in the parking lot with the hoods late one night and a kid from NJ bringing me my Hutch TS that got stolen back to me at that comp. Glad I didn't laugh and not to worry, some days I felt like I couldn't do them either. On other days I could do double decades 10 out of 10 times. That's just the way FS works sometimes. If it makes you feel any better though, I crashed at the skatepark yesterday and man am I sore today. I'm not sure if anyone laughed, but I did.
