Hi All,

I thought I would just try to restore my vinyl Pads. I first washed them and soaked in napi san to get all the grit and stuff off. I then tried to be careful as possible taking all the old rusted press studs off. Unfortunately wasn't careful enough and tore one piece of the vinyl off as it was so rusted (you can see this on the top right of the all after photo. I then Got some Dylon No 2 Yellow and tried to dye the pads to thier former glory. Unfortunately this didn't work. The back of the pads died but the front with its coating didn't seem to take the dye.

In the end i armour alled them up and then put new press studs on which you can get at any sewing store. I bought them at Spotlight here in Australia. See the before and after photos.

I think I will try to get a new set of Yellow Mongoose Vinyl snap pads from somewhere anybody know of any about??? Although I do have a kashimax stem pad which I cannot seem to find anywhere. Anyone have any of these sitting around NOS?? Tell me Im dreamin'.

See photos for results. Again these pads are my originals off my 1980 Candy Blue Team Mongoose. Next i will be trying to dye my two yellow Tuff II's hopefully with more success.

Cheers.

Hope this helps. I know that the stuff that I have seen in more like spray on paint so it might not be perfect, but for the pads without the logos, it will work like a gem
