all my old pix are on slides and i just discovered my scanner can do them (sort of, not as clear as a slide scanner by itself). so here are a few for starters.
1986 Hutch show. he's no longer on the team, but Mike D is in the area w/ diamond back, so he stops by. the bike with white mags is mine. he didn't like Woody's 'cuz of the coaster
http://members.aol.com/mendrchuck/miked.jpghttp://members.aol.com/mendrchuck/miked2.jpgnext up, some candid shots from Haro, 1986. the shop i worked at then (called "rad sports") hosted the show. these are from the "after party" at the shop owner's house.
spike jonze flying our shop colors
http://members.aol.com/mendrchuck/spike.jpgrandom shot in the house. for any who follow skateboarding, the guy in the red shirt is paul zitzer - pro skater and commentator (for whichever series airs on NBC). his family owned the shop.

Wow. !!! what great and rare gems these shots are....
Blyther and Wilkerson look SO young... it's funny to look at these and see how young they actually look, as I've always looked up to them like they were 900 ft. tall gods.

Thanks.

I can't believe we were at the same show. We drove like 4 hours to get there. I got some shots of Woody riding on the road after the show, and Mike getting air.. I can't believe Mike D. just shows up. Why was he there? Can you post more of your old shots.. I could post some of mine too... If you watch Joe Kid on a Stingray, the footage of Woody is from that very show...

Now I'm shocked, the bike you see me riding in those photo's on the kick turn ramp is "the" bike that got stolen when I was in New York. It's a futuristic black TS with a gold stem, gold headset, gold seat post clamp and the pedals were gold with black cages. That bike also has the actual wheels from my gold bike. You can tell by the gold spokes. That's why everyone thought my gold bike got stolen, but it didn't, it was the bike in those pictures. That is the second hutch I'm restoring, that exact bike is the one a kid brought to me at the AFA Masters in Patterson NJ and gave back to me when I was riding for DB. Notice the brakes on the front forks. Thanks for posting those pics. To this day, I still can't believe I got that bike back after all those years. Woody.

It's pretty amazing that one day, one show, would come back so many years later. Seeing those pics just brings back such great memories of that day. And having Woody himself post also.. All 3 of us were at that show, over 20 years ago. I'll post some pics also..

Parts of that show were taped on an actual movie camera that took film. Really old school. The footage is amazing. It's in parts. Strike, is the actual owner of this footage. I've seen it. I would love to see it again. It would take some doing, but it can be done.

Long story short, I don't believe I have that footage in my posession. I'll see what I can do to find it, but I don't think I ever got that particular 8mm film back from Mark.
