So I had to shoot a couple of minutes of video for a little project. I posted it on Youtube so my contact could see it. Thought I would share. It's pretty lame riding but it got me a job. Enjoy. Or not.

The show is some corporate gig. I have to be a "stunt double" for a CEO at a big meeting or something. Riding in a suit or they will dress us the same. It's in Manhattan in a week and a half. As long as we are similar body types, I'm in.

Looked great to me. Good job Brett.
Lemme know if your too skinny. I could sub in for you if they need a fat flat guy...
ps Riding in a suit is weird. The tie messes with you.

Hey Brett, I'd say you still got the touch, especially in a tight area with lots of obstacles. Keeping the dream alive...Woody.

Yeah, I have to second what Woody said. Your looking smoother than ever. The amount of bike control that you have is amazing. It really is effortless looking and fluid. That goes a long way.
I now decree that Brett Downs is officially in full force in the flatland world.
Good to see you riding.
I miss it.

I got the job. It's going to be at a theater or something. I open the meeting by riding down the main aisle, jumping a ramp to the stage, bust out a contest type routine and spin off into the wings. Then they will play a pre recorded crash sound and the CEO will come staggering out onto the stage. I was told it's 90 seconds of riding. Nice.
Funny thing is they asked if I could supply matching helmets and a jersey. Luckily, I happen to have those at work! I'm going to try to get some pictures or video for work. Since I am the marketing guy, this is too perfect.

Sound really cool Brett. Were are you working these days anyway. I've been away for a while and the last time we chatted on the phone you were doing the Mr mom thing I thought.
Congrats again dude and have fun.

Look forward to seeing the video if you can get it.
Out of interest, is the CEO an old rider, or maybe one of the organisers? Just wondering who came up with the BMX idea.

Apparently the guy has some footage of him riding as a kid. They are going to incorporate that into a dream sequence or something. I know it sounds silly but whet the he77, it's show bizniz!

Not silly at all. You're living the dream of getting paid to ride a BMX.

Yeah, it pays but when you figure out all the time that went into learning tricks, it's hardly worth it. It's just fun and will cover a week and a half of daycare for the twins so it's all good!
Thanks for the comments guys. It means a lot.
Thanks for posting the video. There's a couple of links in there I want to learn. Good luck with the gig.

So my show went really well over the weekend. It was the Toy of the Yeat awards. I met the CEO of Radio Flyer (I was his stunt double) and the owners of Lego, Mattel, Hasbro, Fisher-Price etc.
It started with a video of the Radio Flyer CEO trying to figure out what kids like. After a bunch of silly things, a guy says to him "Think what was fun when you were a kid". The video goes to a black and white sequence of a kid on a stingray popping wheelies, jumping curbs, etc.
Then I come out of the back doing tricks down the aisle, bust a move or two up front, do a lap around the room, hop on the stage and do more tricks and then lauch off into the wings. Then the CEO staggers out on stage wearing an identical helmet, jersey and a tire around his neck. He makes a couple of jokes and then starts the ceremony. He did the first 20 minutes in an SE retro jersey. It was too surreal.
So I got my check and a beer then met up with a buddy and rode the city. Overall, a good night!
