This is indeed sad.
It was from Sheldon Brown's site that I learned to lace wheels about seven years back.

Wow, Sheldon was always very cool when I would email him with odd bike questions. What a bummer!

My thoughts are with his family.

I just used his instructions a few months ago to lace up a new set of wheels for one of my mountain bikes. First time I had ever laced and the instructions made it so easy. Thanks sheldon ! RIP
Truly a cycling legend and resource. A sad day.

Yup, me too. Cool info on that site. Very sad he's gone.

I always thought Sheldon would be a cool guy to drink whiskey with....
re-learned to build wheels 9 years ago with his help, his site is a great reference for wheels, coaster brakes and all things bicycle.

A terrible loss to the cycle community, a true enthusiast in every sense of the word!

Great guy. I think a lot of people laced their first set of wheels from his website...myself included.
