Right, I'm not quite sure where to post this but anyway here's the situation . I just bought a Quadangle Team frame off ebay some weeks ago, but when I got it today I discovered that the headtube junction seem to be different from the one shown ! Anybody knows what is going on ? I really like the one with the pierce down tube by the top tube, it looks so much cooler but I ended up getting one with a gusset instead . I'm completely puzzle ! ohmy.gif unsure.gif

Picture shown below is taken from SE web site !

Yeah man I don't know. I see what you mean though. Maybe SE changed the design in the actual models. Who knows. Hopefully it's not a fake frame. I hope you find out.

Great, I have one on order too. That gusset just isn't doing it for me either.. sad.gif
GFR Industries
It looks like a cheap short cut.. sad.gif It's doesn't even follow the the other tubes angle. Last years polished ones show the same as this years blue with the right tube style and not that gusset thing.

If mine shows up with the gusset I think it'll be going back angry.gif & I'll be looking for another frame which will eliminate SE all together as I don't like the looks of the PK either without the original style gusset and those extra plates on the top & bottom. wacko.gif

Oh boy... I've a bad feeling that they're all the same . Guys check this one out, looks exactly like mine too ! Visit My Website worried_anim.gif sad.gif
GFR Industries
Well, looks like I'm canceling an order then sad.gif The hole under the top tube looks smaller too?

I love the feel and look fo SE bikes-especially their welds. But they do make their stuff in China now not the US so they definitely cut corners. The gusset on the quad doesn't look good. Nor do I like the steertube that requires an internal headset. Never liked that aspect of the frames. Only time till tell if SE will come correct on their next frames.
GFR Industries
SE needs to update their website if there are changes from what is shown to the production model.

Mr. Todd Lyons where rrrrr uuu ?! laugh.gif
Len WEED
Dude that totally sucks ! The bad thing for you is that you can't even return the frame and I agree SE should update the website if the frames aren't as shown on the site. Man the gusset is not even close to how a quad should be !!!

It was a strength issue. Not a "cutting cost" issue.

We realized the need for the change after the photoshoot last March.

We only have 20 left & we don't have a photography studio & photographer on hand. Our next photoshoot with the photographer is scheduled for the end of March. And we're sure to be sold out by then.

I'm sorry to those who are dissapointed.

Todd,
Could you put an angle on the gusset to match the tube angle and maybe indent the top of the gusset so a weld could be put over it to make it look like it's a continuation of the tube and not actually a gusset? I'm hoping this is making sense & you can visualize what I mean.

That's what I thought ! Designs don't simply change for no reasons .

So... what ever happened to the prototypes then ? Did all of them had cracks around the headtube area ? & if it was because of strength issue, what about the alluminium USA made quad then ?

Just curious wacko.gif

Can you please elaborate about the strength issue?- Thanks.
