Anybody using a new school BB on Bullseye Cranks?
mr coasterbrake
yes. a Profile SS works, but only in a frame with an American BB shell. i haven't found a suitable euro BB that fits Bullseye's (other than my old actual Bullseye brand euros wink.gif ).

i haven't looked to see if the Amercan bearings would fit a mid BB frame without the cups.

Running the Profiles too.

first, you'd need to have the right cranks with a long enough spindle for those to work. Bullseye cranks were available with different length spindles, depending on what they were being used on (BMX cranks were the shortest). looking at the bike i have some on, there's no way i could fit them using an outboard bearing - spindle is too short and chainline would be way off.

even on a frame with a euro shell, chainline could become an issue with an outboard bearing. i've mocked that up once. the sprockets got pushed to far from the frame. i did this with a BMX and a road frame. the BMX frame worked better, but i had to use a crank with the longer spindle (originally on a road bike).

Looks like the Primo Euro BB is available as a 22 MM version comes with spacers and all.
Looks like FBM has a mid version in 22 MM as well.

I was looking in the Dan's Comp catalog and did they did not have an American Profile BB to fit a 22mm spindle. I thought since Profiles are 19mm they only made 19mm BB sets.

Any suggestions on where to get a "Profile SS" BB? Thanks.

Go to Profile's website. I think you can order direct from them. For a long time that was the only 22mm BB that you could get a hold of after Bullseye quit making them.
A lot of those SS cranksets out there.
There is an Industry american 22mm BB on Dan's probably others also that was just the first one I found. Looks like $19.99 That's effen cheap.

There are a couple more on there to and they are pretty much identical to the Profile SS bb.
Nothing special about the SS bb so p/u the cheapest you can find.

FYI: before anyone gives any money to desperadocycles (shimano to bullseye shim kit) do a search on MTBR! Sounds like he's ripped off a bunch of people.

ATTN: BULLSEYE CRANKS ARE NOT 22mm!!!

they are 22.2mm (or technically, 7/8", which is actually a hair over 22.2).

primo and all the other 22mm BBs do not fit Bullseye cranks.

only the Profile SS is the correct size.

Ahh my bad I always thought they were 22mm, I never miced sp? one or even tried any new style BB's just assumed they would work.
Sorry to get anyones hopes up, you can buy an SS bb off Profiles site in the cranks small parts area. So your not totally screwed.

I got mine from Profile. Then about a week later my LBS called to tell me they found some and got them in. I think they were from Profile too.
