I just picked one up, it's chrome and the only markings are inside the drop out. it's stamped CP only no serial number or anything. it has the baby blue splatter paint stickers on it but the old owner said it had the first style originally and he changed them in 87-88... so what year and model do I have???

It's a pro model. Should be 19-1/2" TT. I agree with BJ83: 86-87 model. Awesome bike!

If memory serves me, from another forum, CC had very limited info on the bikes as far as serial numbers go. I believe all they did was put the month it was made and the model, so CP stands for March Pro. If anyone’s got a SN that's larger than L (Dec.), then I'm way off base. I think at some point they also put the number of frame on it also. I.E. CP88 would be March Pro #88. They never put a year on them because they rarely made any changes.

Actually its a little different guys but very close. It will be stamped with two sperate things so the bike being an ealrier model might be slightly different or the seller was wrong on what was on the drop out. I bet there is more on the dropout. If so C p most likely will stand for cycle craft pro and if there is nothing else it might be March built Pro.

Its is usually stamped with the model like xlx and then under it will be month and number made. b 52 will equal Feb of an unkown year and bike number 52. The only thing that would be on that bike unless less its a factory riders bike will be b 52 then under it on the next like xlx. A Factory riders bike are often stamped on the outsiude of the dropout in a smaller slightly different font or hand engraved. Now my second xlx is slightly different its stamped xlx then A H under it with no number.
