What year did the PK Ripper change from looptail to "U-tail"? Thanks.

1985 was the first year for first non-loop configuration, also 1985 was a one year only frame/fork with straight chainstays and different bologna stamp.

Yup, the 79-84 PK's were loops and then the 85 was the new design with the integrated seat clamp.
