I have found a cool survivor! check out this chrome 24" Araya 7X with a TNT Revolver hub. picked this up from a local guy off of Craigslist. also got a few other odds and ends... I would like to find a matching front hub to make this set complete smile.gif

I have seen these talked about in the freestyle forum but have never seen a 24". did anyone here have anything like this bitd?

i used to cringe when someone would come into our shop wanting those built. that or the twisted spoke pattern. i saw no need for it. it you lace a 36 or 48 correctly and keep the spokes tight, the should be good enough.

I fully agree. I just think it is cool to see something like this..

I agree as well, but this wheel is exactly what the mid-school was all about; Change, and new outside of the box ideas.

Were 72 spokes ever needed? NO. But the simple fact that people were trying to think ahead and do something new has lead to all of the great advancements in the BMX world that we are still seeing today. Flangeless hubs for example. Will they ever take off? I doubt it, but it's another new idea just like the 72 spoke wheel was BITD. BTW, Nice find! wink.gif

nice, bizzarre and cool.

anyone remember the "crazy 96's" that were drilled out peregrine superpros?

p.s. nothing says midschool and useless like the guys trying to imitate mx'ers and zip tie-ing their spokes as the crosses. or since we're talking about wheels, how bout the mid school habbit of tie-ing something around the centers of the hubs to "keep the dirt off.

ah the good ol' days

Jacob,

I've never seen anything like that...very cool...were the rims/hubs actually made like that from the factory, or were they drilled out by someone? I imagine that you could prolly do that as a last result huh? Just an idea...sweet find!

How's that frame? Did you get it yet? smile.gif
