Bill
Bob Osborn has requested through his attorney if anyone might remember a thread from this forum with the title "Trash Can Morgan wets the Bed".

Bob's attorney is looking for the author of above mentioned thread.

anyone?
Keep_It_Warm
I assume you did a search and turned up nothing Bill?

I searched every way I know and turned up nothing.

i can't recall that one. but that'd be one i wouldn't forget if i'd seen it.

that's not a title i recall and i'm good at remembering outlandish stuff.

maybe it happened at bmxactiononline? has he checked with Greg...
Bill
I wouldn't have asked if I could find the thread. Bob insists that there was a thread with that title. I cannot find it.
Brian B
Through his attorney?
Randy
this is odd...
mr coasterbrake
i vaguely remember that title, but no details.

something makes me want to say it wasn't posted here, but it was linked in a post here...maybe unsure.gif
Criscobath
I seem to remember it....I'm pretty sure it was here.
Reilley1
That's the thread about a diaper company using a BMXA picture (or the instantly recognizable outline of) Morgan at I believe Entradero.

I think the thread was deleted about the same time the "Regarding Cosmo" and other threads were deleted when there was some housecleaning of old files a while back.
dayride
Probably could have saved some attorney fees by posting the question himself.
bnd
I don't recall that one but I do remember "Elvis craps his pants at the Grands" thread.

Funniest internet posting ever. EVER. EVER
Thumperpilot
I remember the thread about the duiapers and the Trash Can Morgan shot that appeared on them. That was avery long time ago.
BenOr
Two things:

1). I started the thread as my son was still in pull ups. When we bought them I immediately knew it was Morgan. I posted under some clever or goofy topic.

2). I was in an R&D review this afternoon when I read this on my Blackberry. I actually LOLed when I read Elvis's reply. Literally I laughed as people were looking at 6mm screws that hold a 12V thing a ma jig.

you might want to have an attorney read over your post and edit it accordingly benOr. tongue.gif

So let me see if I am reading this right.

Bob's atty.
wants us,
all Bob's friends,
to tell Bob,
through a thread,
through Bill,
and then through his attorney,
(because Bob won't speak to us directly anymore, because his words were published here illegally, and he had exclusive rights to them),
for the purpose of divulging who it was,
that posted the thread,
so that person,
in turn,
can tell Bill,
what company it was,
that used a silhouette,
of an image,
that Bob allegedly took,
so that he can sue the diaper company,
and collect monies for his rights to the silhouette,
of an image,
of a BMXer,
whom is of no relation to Bob,
but since Bob witnessed him doing a trick,
and allegedly immortalized him doing a trick on film,
(since it obviously couldn't have been a silhouette, of a photo, that someone else took),
it is Bob's right ....to profit from that individual's talents who performed the trick for him?

(Am I reading that correctly?)

...So, .....do I see a law suit towards the diaper company?

....The printer?

...The Photo Shop ™ software that enabled the image to be converted to a silhouette?

What's in it for us? Is there a reward? A finder's fee?

Let's add Al Gore to the lawsuit. Because Al Gore invented the internet, and this image, of a silhouette, of an image, on a package, was being hosted on a server, on Al Gore's internet.

And, I would like to be the one to claim the finder's fees, and all said royalties, for finding the image, (of a silhouette, of an image, on a package, that was being hosted on a server, and discussed on a forum, on Al Gore's internet),and turning it in to proper authorities.

Bill, please have Bob's attorney contact you in getting my address, to collect my royalties for said events. If you contact some others here, they can get in touch with me, and then I can tell them my address, and they can tell you, and you can tell his attorney, and then he can tell Bob.

Now let's get to the real honey pot!

I am told,
through good sources,
that this 1972 image of Rick G.,
giving his victory speech,
after crossing the finish line,
successfully,
in true Wheaties ™ (gotta dot the i's) box fashion,
(after pushing a little girl over the berm),
was used illegally,
in the same dishonorable and royalty free fashion!
.....And I want in on some action on this too!$!$!$!!

Did Bob trip over Cosmo and bump his head or something? Or am I getting this all wrong? laugh.gif tongue.gif

BTW, Does anyone remember a thread with the title, "Go suck a fart!?". Just askin'...
mcam
>(because Bob won't speak to us directly anymore, because his words were published here illegally, and he had >exclusive rights to them)

I wondered what had happened here. I think I was away on holiday when all that happened. Kinda weird, Bob Osborn (he isn't Oz to me now) got all the old ex Pros to pack up and follow him over to a new site? With Greg Hill and all the others? Please, correct me if I'm wrong about that.

Funny tho... If it wasn't for all the people like us back then, who hung on all the words printed in that publication back then, then his "words" wouldn't be worth jack today. Kinda sad really.

Like I said, please correct me if I am wrong.

Sounds like there was a mass exodus at some point, that some of us missed.

I don't usually get involved in the drama threads, but...

I lost respect for him right about the time he first started posting here. I made a light-hearted comment about how he "greased the pockets" of a former pro rider. I admit it was a bad choice of words. All I meant was he was in marketing cahoots w/ the riders in his magazine. He absolutely went off on me. He was very condescending from quite the elitist perspective. I was quite shocked and dissapointed that he reacted like he did. At first I really felt bad that I offended someone that I looked up to as a kid, until that old school/new school thread...

The way he reacted to other peoples' opinions on that controversial BMX track thread lead me to believe he is very narrow-minded and unreasonable, or he had an agenda. Maybe it was his feeble attempt to "Pied Piper" the bmx mice away from this site to www.selfgratifyingegostrokeactiononline.com. Whatever.

Seeing that he won't come onto this website and ask the question himself only confirms my beliefs about his character.

It is sad.
dayride
Some good stuff in this thread. Yeah they have a site but just remember what Dorothy said. There's no place like home.
guest_070901
Bill, as ludicrous as this thread is, that's very similar to how the Oz era was and really nothing useful is to be gained from rehashing the history. just sillyness.

On a positive note, we now have Bill C posting again, and I appreciate that muchly.

I've been taping a picture of Stu T. on my jock strap for years, didn't realize I should be paying royalties to Oz.....

Um, I wouldn't call it as much an exodus as drama, which you may have missed, yes. Not to worry however, as there will be more drama, later, because this is an Internets message board.

Regarding this particular drama you're curious about, there was a particular acrimonious drama storm in times past. It was sad, but it also spoke volumes about, and as such shaped, the BMX world -- especially for the hobbyist.

It's kind of painful to talk about in any detail past that, to be honest, plus exploring this much further is liable to re-ignite the fire and, believe me, nobody wants that. It actually got bad enough, that drama storm, to be physically tiring, just to give you an idea of the forces we're dealing with here.

Just to give you an idea, I took some time typing up this post and choosing the words carefully so as to minimize the chance of accidental ignition.

Ted forgot the part (and correct me if I'm wrong) that most of the pictures were thrown out when the magazine shut down.
Keep_It_Warm
Have they broke 300 members yet?
Bill Hayden
Thanks Elvis, as far as drama, yes it rears it's ugly head from time to time on this and most boards. And for the accidental ignition, I think Viagra will help
Brian B
Wow. This has to be some sort of record. It's only the middle of January and we already have the thread of the year..
cheez
Ted, your post trumped Elvis's for humor. The topic of the thread I find no humor in, but the honey pot thing was freakin hilarious.

So who get's or should get the bucks for the use of "BMX" printed on Ted's TP isn't that an acronym for Bicycle Moto Cross that was first spoken and printed by some other figure in BMX history?

Just wondering.
Greg_Hanna
I think there is more here than meets the eye. Sounds like, to me, there is some behind the scenes leveraging/strong arming getting ready to emerge. Sour grapes?

I guess it isn't cheaper and so easy to destroy a successful website, start up and maintain a successful website rather than investing in another's hard work. Remember that's how someone's magazine started! Different time, different product!! But, that someone sure seems up to speed on the legal trend of "artistic" rights. Wonder if Mr. Morgan actually ever signed a release for the use his image on that specific picture, or just a release for that session to be photographed. I guess some are just accustomed to opening cans of worms.

He will always be OZ to me, the teenager.....but I am grown up now. Just my opinion.

Let's not read too much into this.

My first thought was Bill was in deep doo, then Ted's CSI theory came to me.

Right now, some graphic designer for Pampers is getting a phone call.
