Thanks Ben...
EMPI if you are refering to my faith when you say forgive and move on I must tell you that my faith in Jesus Christ has never been stronger than it is today...But that is not the issue in this thread. Just like so many things that go off in other directions on the internet basically this thread is so far out of wack that even if you were here on the first page it was going out and away from the topic..Everyone got bent and took it back to what happened months ago, the drama of people moving on and starting something on their own but that is not the issue either...Ben basically covered 100% of the actual topic here with what he said earlier..
However if so many people are still bent over the past drama and really are so quick to make judgements on what took place in the past well then perhaps it might be a good idea to just lay it all out, we could do that..We could just put all the e mails out there huh, everyone will get a clear picture of what took place last May..
I do not have anyone to forgive, I was not wronged, my family not hurt..This is internet drama, he said she said stuff or as most may agree it's entertainment..If you do not like the entertainment you simply change the channel...Having said that Im more feeling like I need to send a big thank you out to VBMX and the host of mods they have and our good buddy Ken Pliska, if not for them www.bmxactiononline.com would of never been born..
THANKS GUY'S!

Greg, I'm sorry for judging you or anybody, I was born again 2 years ago and it was hard to make changes. still is. I never knew what was going on, till I read this thread.
Alot of times I would scan off BMXA and post on sites. asking questions on this part or whatever, hot shots, so basically I cant do that now? of course, I'm not making a penny off it, just information, or sharing what happened bitd. etc
Ben, thanks for clearing that up, ususally I would not "butt" in, but those guys were my idol bitd. Including Greg and OZ. Heres my SOB story, and im sure it impacted alot of kids also, My mom married 5 times before I graduated from Highschool, and from a very poor and abusive family, I had no father, just bunch of loser step dads... BMXA were my escape, Riding BMX were my freedom.
and i'm a member on www.bmxactiononline.com
anyway sorry and hope this gets resolved soon..

Ding, ding ding, we have a winner, and he comes here to check in. Sometimes people change, move on, what have you. Greg went with Oz in a different direction. When everything went down, it must have been while I was in the hospital, and I while bummed the place looked different when I came back. But that being said, time for the VBMX crew to head in its direction and get back to the fun of BMX

I dont look at it that way, This site has 10k members, and it's probably the biggest Vintage BMX related site there is, and a very good place to advertise and sell parts.
I wonder how long the contract is?

This is what many of us are still pretty bent about. Members of this site spent countless hours and provided volumes of research and historical evidence to formulate a timeline of events. Is it right for someone to compile all that evidence and then claim rights to it? Doesn't seem fair to me, but maybe that's just how it goes. I'm working on my own time line based on the same content provided by all of you and will create a page for the site soon and will claim no rights to it whatsoever since all of you did the research. Sorry for picking an old scab... move along.. this thread is over.
Exactly!
Oz was quite the leach on that freestyle compilation and what's even funnier is how Greg Hill tries to poo poo his site with Oz just waltzing over there to become a "member". I mean c'mon, do these guys think we're still 12 believing everything they print....... similiar how Oz shunned the East Coast to favor West Coast rider/top paying ad sponsors back in the day in his mag (ooops, did I just print THAT as well).

Other than brokebackbridgecity wanting his "STRAP" signed by Stu (J/K)
.... a thread like this REALLY does bring out the OS truth here. We are have grown up NOW (most) and understand that life makes changes, as long as we keep in mind, that the young that we have admire people like the NASCAR drivers (not me) "left turn" people will be there someday where "OZ....and others" are with this in the future...
So knowing what we all admired BITD, was CRAP (can I say that Elvis?) is good to know now, but it doesnt change my love and respect for the sport of BMX in general... Well. except for Stu bending over the banner tape with a Sharpie scribbling his name on Bridges' crotch

(can I say crotch Elvis?)
Still its all good in the end. Me not loving OZ and GH'ULOSER is my opinion, and no one else's deal, just mine right now (and back in the early 80's), the idol's I had and still have (Stu are you gonna send that pic sometime?) are still strong with what I remembered way back when, and was what has brought me what I am doing now...Loving and supporting the sport. It's all good in the end....

to be honest for just a sec, last year Stu was pretty cool on the site. Seemed like the kinda down to earth dude that would be fun to chat with if our kids were at the same birthday party at Chuck E Cheese. but my only question, is why did you up and jump ship when Oz drew the line in the sand. oh well, we all gotta choose sometimes....

Hello -
Stu has posted here all along. I've spoken with several of the old pros about this. Many of the guys post on several sites. Most everyone didn't choose sides. Rather they choose to stay clear and not choose sides. It's resonable that they would post more around the people they grew up with and know. We all do the same.
Let it go and let's get back to bikes. I just bought a Mirraco 20Forty yesterday....

Good point, and yeah, Stu's been posting all along.
I think playing into the "whose side are you on?" stuff just makes you part of the same silly game which led to the Balkanization in the first place. Just be who you are and do what you do.

This is not another addition to any drama.
I just noticed something while looking at the picture of Stu. This sport of BMX is in OUR blood. Just take a close look at Stu's face. That my friends is intense !! Even if I can't ride as well as Stu or many other people in our sport, I can experience that same feeling, whether it's by riding my bike or looking at others ride their bikes.
So, I was right. It is in our blood. Sometimes there is good blood, sometimes there is bad blood, but it will always remain in our blood. I love this sport.

In all seriousness, I keep thinking about 2 things that were stated early on here.
1. Elvis wouldn't lock it because, "a little airing of the laundry can be good".
2. The observation that this thread "has brought the group together rather than divide it".
I'm going to add another: There seems to be some glimpses of tattered white fabric in the wind on the horizon, and hints of some fence mending being initiated as a result of 1 and 2.
Indeed, somebody drew a line in the sand, and now it's being crossed. The more traffic across it, the more it gets erased. ....and that is a good thing.
Ironically, it was the initial "crossing via delegate via messenger", rather than crossing it in person, that initiated it all.
Dirty diapers, dirty jock straps, lawyers.... All tend to get a little stinky. Airing them out can be a good thing. However, getting caught with them hanging out on your clothes line is usually less than desirable.

Props to many, for efforts being made to wash a little dirty laundry here.

At risk of being or sounding and acting like a faux moderator, I believe, but you can think otherwise, that for pushing 50 Stu is rocking on his bike. You must agree with me or I will "will" you off the site.
Please note that I don't want you to take this to mean that I am telling you to ride a Redline, that jumping is safe and without risks or that Greg is never grumpy. I like Ken Pliska (even though Spell check tries to make me call him Ken Plasma), Bill Curtin, Gary Haselhoff, Greg Hill and Stu Thompson. I really don't like dirty laundry or old freaks that whine too much about people they never actually met.
But I really think jock strap stories are funny and a great read! They are absolutely brilliant!
Then again this has absolutely nothing to do with Oz or this thread. The internet thing is wonderful and *%$@ed up.

I tell you what I have no clue what has been going on I just recently joined VBMX and BMXAO and have been away from the sport of BMX for the last 20 years, I haven't looked at a bike rode a bike looked at BMX magazine or web site that had anything to do with BMX until nov 2007,
I guess I'm going to put my .02 in here we all loved and still love BMX, or we wouldn't be on these web sites, I assume these sites were started for the love of BMX and to try and stay in contact with all the old racers (national and local) from back in the day, tell some stories here and there, help the collectors sell and trade their stuff, you get the point,
my point is didn't we all grow up, who cares who did what to who, or who had their toe's stepped on, or their little feelings hurt, I was under the impression when I stumbled onto these sites that they were here for the history of BMX, and to keep in touch with old friends maybe I'm wrong, but it seems to me lately like a bunch of juvenile crap
maybe some guy's feel slighted by some of the legends in the sport after all every one of us felt like we knew them personaly, we seen them at the nationals we went to and in the great magazines that came in the mail each month, like I said I have no clue what has been going on but I think the world is big enough for 2 3 4 or 5 web sites just like BMXAO and VBMX, let the ego's go guy's let's just enjoy the history of the great sport we loved as kids,,,,BMX...
