Found these bars and spray bombed 6 bolt MCS stem in the junk room at a local shop yesterday. What are the bars?

steel, not aluminum
huge 27x 12 inches tall! ohmy.gif
typical 70's flat black
straight line knurled from bend to bend at clamping area
nice welds, not bird poop
nutty sweep & rise

Profiler
well they look sort of cruiserish. Possibly important.

That stem however, BITD that was the best stem I ever owned.
Mine was blue and faded by the time I got it, and I could
never abuse it enough. Rock solid.
Monster-Robot
Possibly Matthews...?

For sale or trade?

Yeah, I thought cruiser shape at first too, but at 12 inches tall they're way too big...???
And, yes, MCS stems rule! I have several...

Monster-Robot- I'll be keeping these- at least until I figure out what they are... got a couple of 70's builds going on! smile.gif

What Robot said: Matthews. Early to mid 70s build

I agree, they look just like the Matthews bars. Been looking for a set for over 2 years now. cool.gif

Awesome! Thanks for the info guys. I grabbed them hoping they would be right for a pre-'76 build... looks like I picked up the right bars! biggrin.gif

Agree! I ran a MCS stem for years on my Sting. Awesome piece!

Those bars are the first bars with a higher rise than the older low motorcycle style bars. The angle was horrible once you got them moved far enough forward. I had them until I got my Two Wheeler bars in '76.
Thumperpilot
I have a pair very similar to that on the bay right now.
