I have a friend that is thinking of selling his late 1980's GT Pro Series 20" bike. It is all original and all the components are sealed except for the headset. What would be a fair asking price for the bike.
I just saw the pinned item about bike values after I posted this.
But if you can help that would be great.

Tough to say without the parts (although I assume they are orginal spec)? I have purchased a lot of GTs in my day, and I couldn't see most people paying more than perhaps $150 for a late 80s model (like 86 - 88, just the F/F) in chrome and in very very good condition. You start flirting with 1989, and it will really drop I expect. So with a decent stock parts list, maybe $250 - $300 total. Just a guess no knowing anything about the combo.
