I was just wondering if anyone else justified a ridiculous purchase as a Christmas gift to yourself?

I just bought a pair of 1st gen GT cruiser bars. I have been trying for years to land a set. Hopefully they get here soon so that I can have something I "really" want under the tree. How bout you?

happy holidays

I bought this for myself -

I just got it unloaded and taking it for a couple spins around the garage. I've been kicking the idea around for sometime to start riding and racing cruiser, instead of just a twenty. I was going to build one this spring. While out drum shopping for my son, I stumbled across this and the price was way to good to pass up. Its funny in all my years of BMXin I've never really ridden a cruiser or owned an aluminum frame so I guess I'm getting a two for one deal this time around. I was told it was either a 99 or 00 Proline Team Issue. The serial reads CS1H06500 any help from you Redline guys will be appreciated. It's all original except for the Answer Alumilite forks and the Sun Ringle sprocket.

Here is "The POOK" with his Christmas ham.

If you bought that for yourself, you are probably in trouble.

If you have a son, and you bought it for him, you are in big trouble! laugh.gif

It is made by KHE. A totally flatland specific frame. My first really. Everything else I have had was multipurpose.

Check out http://www.khebikes.com
They have a ton of cool inventions.

Indy,
First thing you want to do with that bike is take the bars off & throw them in the garbage. I have seen 3 pairs of those things break, the latest at our track this summer in 31-35 cruiser. The racer wasn't jumping, they just broke during a sprint & BOOM! Broken arm.
If you don't believe me, post this up in the race section & ask for feedback on those bars.

Merry Christmas!

invisibleman1
heinz-stick with dw...if you get bored of stuff like i do,the resale or flip value of dw's is almost the same as the day you bought them-funny thing is,i'm a guitar player....or should i say WAS...these drums are bonkers.
baron-i do have a son! he got a mini ludwig kit..and will be charging 5nov this summer! (but i might wait a year and get him more solid on his bike)

hope everyone has smooth holidays.
indylodown
invisibleman - Awesome looking set of dw's. I just bought my son a set of pearls (export series w/cymbals) for Christmas.

Here is a pic of the Redline after a complete teardown and cleaning. I destickered it mainly cause they were beat and I think it looks better (for now). I replaced the headset with a FSA PIG, replaced the torn seat and put some big boy bars on. I just didn't care for the original bars to short and it made me feel like I was riding a roadbike (yeeeech). The bars on there may end up being to tall, but for now it sure is a fun one to ride and I'm looking forward to getting it on the track.

I still haven't gotten a solid answer on the year, everyone says 99/00. the serial is CS1H06500 biggrin.gif
