Full Version: Cut That Brake Cable !

Mr. Smith
This topic blows my mind. I seen it done on everything from daily drivers to 2, 3 even 10 K show bikes. For God's sake cut that brake cable. Are people mechanical morons or just lazy ?

I mean let's face it when the cable is too long it's obvious...NO ?

Attention to detail is what makes the bike. Who cares who powder coated it or how much $$$ is invested ? If you've got an over abundance of cable it looks like sh/t !

I was cutting my brake cables to the proper length at the age of 12. Well I just seen another example and felt like shouting out !

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays

But before you cut, make sure you got some decent cable/piano wire cutters like these:

..cause nobody wants to see a badly cut cable either.

Amen Mr. Smith. That has always annoyed me. And while your're at it. Set-up the brake pads properly and don't just have each of them three inches from the rim with sloppy alignment. Maybe some propper toe as well. We all have nice stuff, so the set up and feel of the rig matters.
