That yellow El Camino with mags and German tags filled up with vintage BMX bikes is HOT! The Torker stickers really make the whole thing work... laugh.gif

Now that looks like fun. OS racers on OS bikes... I take it the track was a New school style?? It would be fun to have a series of OS bikes, riders on a OS track.

Great stuff guys!!!! Impressive!

Thanks guys! (it is me table topping)
It seems that my skills did not leave me over the years! LOL
The track was ultra fast and it was very difficult for us old schooler to handle.

The next European Champion Ships will be held there.

Unfortunately Patrick broke his foot during a moto but he will be there in the saddle again next year!!!

Last but not least a big thanks to Dieter Schadowski who's doing BMX business since the 80ies.

His shop is a time machine!

Unbelievable... I need an old uniform.. That is so cool.. That should be an official class, with uniform and bike... Racing and using this stuff is what it's all about..

is that track totally covered in asphalt?
starchild
that is the coolest race ever! looks like an absolute blast.

@mslayers
no it is not but all the curves. The rest is grey split. Crashing hurts!
This is superfast, but I like the old dirt much better.

I always look forward to Oliver's race pics. Thanks!

Wow! What an amazing collection of Old School bikes and Old School outfits! Awesome to see another country like Germany having an old school revival too. We had race meeting down in Australia a few months back, got 2 full gates of school bikes and guys to race..Just awesome.

Oh yeah nice table top dude..You have most diffinately still got it!!
Jarvi
Wow, lining up on the gate on an old school bike is a good feeling, wearing the gear as well would be even better. I was in the race 84Profile mentioned and riding new school tracks on old school bikes is tough. Don't know about you but a few of us had trouble keeping the front end down. Judging by the tabletop of yours, you had it under control.

Great photos Oliver and thanks for sharing.

Agreed! That's what we need at Rockford or some other national . They brought back pit bike races, then side hacks for some nationals why not bring back just good old guys on good old bikes too! Hey why not make the 30 over BS race manditory on old iron? It could even be a national of it's own with with 20" 24", side hack, tandem, and pit bike classes. You know the VBMX gathering at the Rock is getting bigger every year with everyone having to compete for space and lodging. It would be bad *** to find a track facility that has enough room to also add a more old school friendly type of track. Maybe have the races at one of the tracks just before they change it so it can be altered without too much trouble?

Are there any members who have the space to build a track and have a true OLD SCHOOL national once a year? If I had a few acres I'd be all over this

Thanks Oliver for a great thread & mighty fine photos. In one of the photos there is a bike known as a March what is the history of that brand of bike. Cheers
SE Quadangle
Tim March was a great BMX racer in Britain. He started his own company in the early 80's. The MRD (Ma rch Racing Development)frames and forks were high end products made of Reynolds tubing with beautiful tig pulse welds.
They offered 99 Years guarantee for breaking! LOL
The frame geometry was state of the art just like the new school rides today. It was tricky to ride it due to the steer tube angle. They had a freestyler (Badlander) as well. You don't see them often, unfortunately. I still have a mini expert racer that my son will use in 4 Years.

Cheers
