Those appear to be the Landing Gear "Max" fork. They were made for a short time in around 1980 or 81. They were supposed to be sold for serious jumping abuse. They are pretty rare.
But not $600.00 worth of rare. IMO

Aren't there copies out there too that look like that. I would have sworn to have seen low end copies look just like that.
But what do I know...not calling him a fraud, just not what I know to be true. And I am no expert by any means.

LOL - I wondered how long it would be until this post emerged.
This seller had an identical set of Landing Gear forks for sale, except they were red, and had the dropouts stamped. Suspicious that there are traces of red near the top tube. I wonder if there are grind marks on the dropouts.

The VERY first Landing Gear in 1980 had NO holes in the dropouts. They then went to the std three hole dropout. These appear to be completely legit BUT I'd say $300 MAX because they are the early rare ones. Doesn't hurt to dream though.................
BTW, the low end copies had the vent hole in the bologna cut.

Right here, next to my desk sits a looptail PK with unstamped Landing Gear Forks identical to the ones in that auction (no holes in the dropouts). This frame is PK47835 and the forks were on it since day one (I picked it up from the local original owner a while back). Original color appears to be red and had been spraybombed yellow some time back.
I was just boxing it up to send it off to get a new seat-tube and Baby Blue Powder. So, If I place it on eBay when it is done will my forks come in to question then? They are real forks.

And since we are talking unstamped 1" threaded LG prices.......
Did anyone pay attention a few months ago when three different sets sold for $350, $450 and $600 within two weeks of each other?
Perhaps this guy is pricing from those comps.

Actually I did forget about those auctions (all of which I watched) so Ken's right. $600 maybe?? We'll see.

My guess is repro. A guy in California using Ebay name Sunnysgirl4 is friends with Sal who worked at SE and they have been pumping out their own stuff and claiming it is true SE stuff. SE NEVER offered an unstamped fork with two hole dropouts and NO brakehole. This sunnysgirl on the otherhand HAS. He's also pumping out reman bars and claiming they are true SE powerwings.
$230 some dollars. Some one just got the ruru and this is EXACTLY how repros are hurting this hobby. Also, a brand new zero feedback seller? FISHY.

Don't wanna be flamed for this.... just thinkin out loud, but it seems more fishy that this 6 month old thread was dug up by Deepseeman for his first post, and links it to an ebay sale, and it jumped from 73.00 yesterday to a winning bid of 237.00..
Hmmm...

Hmmm all you want Mark. I was interested in buying those forks as I need a set of forks to finish my project. 237 was a bit steep for my blood.
