i have an old blue max i'v been working on, could use some opinions to maybe help me decide on the look. first off i'm not big on stock rebuilds, none of my bikes as a kid were new, always built from frame up with what ever i could buy/trade from friends or get at the LBS. this bike being no exception, i got it like 10 years ago and am just now working on it. i got it with gt bars, pro class neck,no crank,no brakes, gold arayas, aero seat,i put a gyro and F&R brakes on it at first but have removed em now,not the look i want for the bike. and decals for this bike are dang neer impossible to find,so i have some i found and like though they dont match. i have a odyssey excaliber crank, skyway turbo disk, odyssey triple traps. that i was thing of using.i had got some white tuff 2s for it but they ended up on a differnt bike, so i'm trying to decide on blue tuffs or geting new hubs and relacing the arayas.am only gona run rear brake.so basicly my questions or the wheels, and weather or not the crank and sprocket, pedal set up will look ok, here are some shots.

this is right before i started onit and didnt know what it was yet. the crank was robbed from some old bike a friend had, they are short to.

here with the white tuffs and some paint.

here is how it sits now, with me pondering on next step

thanx in advance.

I'm not much into the stock look of bikes as I never had the money for new bikes either. I aso built my bikes from the frame up by wheeling and dealing and buying parts as I got the money. The Blue Max would be an exception for me though, because a buddy had one that was all stock and it was the only one around here.

I think a lot of us just like to replicate what we had when we were younger so I say, to each his own. Build what makes you happy, after all it is your money and most of all your childhood you're bringing back to life. Good luck and keep us posted with pics!

definitely get the correct decals though smile.gif

i'm probely gona run the crank/pedal set up till i find something more suiting, as for the decals i'd swap origanals in a heart beat if i could find em. they origanals were red and blue, last year i seen a set of gold and blues on ebay but they went high.if i could find some good photos i'd try have then copied by the sign place in town.
