Full Version: Floval Profits In The Taking...

Hello All, this guy had no problem saying he is looking for a profit. Just made me laugh for two reasons.
1.The original seller didn't know what he had until he listed a few NOS frames with low BIN's. Now they all go for auction and sell for about 3 times his original BIN.
2. Pledges his loyalty to the item, he has owned for a month. Money talks BS ... you know the rest.

Once again this guy just made me laugh, nothing wrong with what he is doing, just thought I would share.

Did you notice the question from the original seller?

Q: HOPE YOU MAKE ALOT OF MONEY ON THESE, YOUR WELCOME, CALVIN Nov-29-07
A: I would like to give my family a nice Christmas this year instead of always buying stuff for myself. I hope it meets reserve! Thanks for sending it to me.

unbelievable...profiteering at its best!
KCBMX
yup, I detect a little sourness...

I guess I dont see a problem with this. The original seller got exactly how much he was asking. No harm done in my book. cool.gif

Suuuuuuure wish I'd happen upon one of these auctions before it ended. smile.gif

Yes Brian I agree. I caught that Floval about 20 min late.

I too see nothing wrong with it. Just conversation.

I do have to say that many investment people will tell you to take a 300% return in a month.

$600 was a great price for that - maybe he decided he didn't want it after all.

Make a profit - I don't see anything wrong with that.

OP - why are you getting a laugh out of this? What the Ebay seller is doing is what most people would have done, including myself. I have no desire to own any cruiser, so no love lost and easy money. Case closed. I personally get a laugh out of the "don't tell how much you bought it for" unspoken rule here - so you can flip something here (or someplace else) without the criticism of "profiteering from the true BMX collector community". LOL, please. I get such a kick out of the double-standard that runs rampant in the collector community. This isn't just BMX, it's almost everything people are passionate about collecting. Hysterical.

No one forces anyone to bid! The guy saw a bargain with the BIN, purchased, as ANYONE of us would have, maybe he changed his mind, maybe he bought it purely to make a buck, either way he's done nothing wrong.
Although his reserve looks to have been fueled a bit to high by the mighty $$.
Play on.............

I must say I can't see anything wrong in this v8quattro bloke doing this....., but maybe he needs to be a little more realistic in his BIN price.....

it's a shame the original seller didn't do his homework, as the $600 price tag was a give-away !

There was a naive ebayer in the UK earlier this year, who mistakenly put a £250 BIN Price on a Hutch Pro Racer (nothing wrong with that I hear you say?!?!), but it had Aerospeeds, Hutch Pedals, STem, Bars, Hutch Hubbed Araya's etc etc etc......the aution lasted 6 mins before some lucky **** grabbed it !!

What I do object to is this statement from the profiteer:

"I would like to give my family a nice Christmas this year instead of always buying stuff for myself." - who buys Christmas presents for THEMSELVES !!!! huh.gif NO !! NO ! NO !!

Although I think he should buy Calvin something this year ! LOL !!!
