Mr. Smith
Was everybody sleeping or am I just lucky ? It's not cherry of course but nice drop outs ! Some head tube rewelding looks decent. A white paint job over chrome...sticks good.

Going for the main build this weekend. Got some nice goodies for it. !st gen tuf-neck red, ACS Z rims red, red Fuan period correct style seat, MX900's or 1000's in red, GT non-knurled bars...little rough, AME duals blk., DX lever red. Shimano DX pedals silver, Takagi 175mm w/ 2pc. quick change Sakae sprocket possible sealed BB.

How does that sound for now ? Not bad for what I refer to as a budgeted build.

Sounds great for a budget build! I have an 81 frame here with decent bars and stem (yes correct) but no fork. So it is going to sit here until I get the forks.

That is the first year GT with the 1" downtube? They are cool painted, mine is chrome but I think I might do a color (black) for mine.

Some of your parts are not that low budget!

Mr. Smith (Rob)-

I would say just pure luck. LOL. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut now and then (jk). Maybe I should have listed it for a little more smile.gif

The red sounds good. Can't wait to see your rendition.

Here is a before pic with a black and gold theme.
