"Oh and looky what I got here..."
Well they aren't G-Boy forks but they are something even better. Still not worth that kind of coin but pretty cool.

Wow - How stupid of me to overlook the dropouts. Damn, you guys don't overlook much. They almost look like early Redline forks with those dropouts. I don't think G Boy forks would even go for $1000. But stupid purchases are in the eye of the beholder and always talked about by the majority.
My girlfriend thinks $1000 for a purse is well worth it!

Those forx are 10 times as rare as G Boys. They are a fork that would be required of a few notable replica builds!!!
Mr. Goins please enlighten us.....spill the beans since you were the one to open the can.

Yes they are Profab, way rare but not worth that much. I wonder what color they are, because they never came painted. Rick I'm surprised you didn't know what they were from the git-go.

The seller has emailed me and said they were anodized blue underneath.
Educate us please. What would Profab forks come on, or who would have rode them? I don't know, $1000 might be worth it just to look at them?

PROFAB, Chandler AZ MX parts manufacturer. Specialized in YZ Yamaha swing arms, and made them for other makes too. They would make just about any part for any bike you had if you had the $. Around 76 they started making BMX frames for themselves as well as a number of others, Two Wheeler was one. In Arizona in the 70's it wasn't uncommon to see half the local riders on the gate on one. The forks were very light and very trick. They made them in two tube sizes sandard and mini and they came in a natural and blue anno finish. I don't ever recall seeing them in any other color. They weren't very hard to bend or break if they did it would usually be at the arch of the fork leg. On the anno sets it's easier to see the miniscule lines that start forming where the break accured. BMXA used a set on their "PROJECT MINI", remember that one? Under 12 lbs mini easy today, not so easy back then. Profab did make a very limited run of chromo forks but only the support riders got them, and they quit doing BMX by 79/80. Profab didn't use a "Factory" team. They supported a number of LBS teams all over the Valley. I rode for the Road Runner Bike Shop, Profab support team at the time. Their frames have been lost in BMX history, very few people even know about them. Everyone remembers Harry's bike and those cool alloy forks they had but very few people know who made them. At 4#3oz for euro BB, even by today's standards their frames were light. Today, Profab still exists but they have moved on to doing protoype and fab work for the military and aerospace industry. When I got back into BMX and was still living in PHX I looked them up, and sadly the original owners had sold the business, and they had no leftovers hanging around. I have however been lucky with some Profab finds.
I would be wary of buying a set of painted profab forks, especially for a grand. I'd say they should have started the bidding at 4-5 hundred and see where it went from there.
