Everyone has something that means more to them that all the others. In 1983 I made the top 50 in Canada in the CABA(Canadian-American Bicycle Association) even though I was forced to quit racing in the last week of July. I started to cough up blood at a race and my life changed that day. They took out my left lung 3 weeks later (I had a huge tumor that bleeding and filling my left lung up with blood) and ended my bmx racing days. Still, I never sewed the patch on anything and kept as a reminder of how good that summer was in terms of racing. I ended up the year with plate number 14 in the province. Who nows maybe I could have cracked the top ten.....

Feel free to show us what your prized possession is from BITD-maybe a trophy-maybe a bike!

The father-son weekend project I did with my dad in 1981. The backing board is a piece of 125+ year old barnwood that came directly off an old schoolhouse in Almont, Michigan.

I had a Mongoose at the time, but I longed for a Hutch. My dad helped me cut the letters and stars....I thought it was SO COOL when he found it a couple of years ago. I thought it was long gone. It is hanging proudly in my home now. smile.gif
