Got some survivor pedals and bolts are froze in for the cages. Had luck with other sets cuting up old cages, these still won"t move. Pull the bearings and heat up the bodies? Any suggestions appreciated.

Jim,

Are they stripped? You could try cutting a slot in the screw head w/ a hacksaw and remove the screw w/ a screwdriver.

i've gotten some out by Dremeling some flats on the sides and grabbing them with a Vice-grip.

They aren't truely stripped, I can't get them to "break free" They will be stripped if I keep whaling on them. The cages spin and don't "grab" the button bolt like I had hoped.

easy outs!

get a dremel with a cut off wheel and cut slots into the button heads so you can get them out with a flathead driver.
You can put much more torque into a flathead than an allen.
Those bolts are extremely easy to replace so dont even worry about them.

Stevenbeven wins the prize. I had cut the crupi cages apart already. Steve recommended bending the cages with a vise grip to spit the cage at the bolt. Then put the bolt in a vise. I just used the vise grip and removed the three stubborn bolts in all of 5 minutes. Thanks Steve, Johnny, Chris and everyone for your suggestions. biggrin.gif
