It was three years ago When in the middle of winter I had the urge to ride my bike so bad!
I Have been Designing and building proto type bike frames for a couple years now, and I though to myself I need to ride NOW!
When watching some skiing on TV I saw some guy doing tricks on these little skis? I ordered a set built some Stands Drilled some Cold Rolled steel put it all together, whent to my local ski resort went to the top of the hill and went for it!
At the bottom (after I almost pissed my pants from going so fast.) I was hooked.
Check it out, I will be going to the ski resort in a few weeks and I will take photos.....
Enjoy....

My 10 yrs old son, My wife says he can have his own this year!

I have an old Haro Group One with a couple of slabs of 4x4 in the drops with cut down skis I trash picked. This will be my third winter on it. I am looking for new skis to make a 16" for my son!

It'll probably make the olympics before BMX Freestyle does. unsure.gif

I love the idea because you don't clip in and out like skis and boards. This could be the next big thing. Flat pedals might help, too. Make sure to send pics!

back in the 80s i was in taos new mexico and a guy had a powerlite that had a ski for the front wheel and the rest of it was still a rideable bike he let me ride it you crank at the top of the hill then carve your way down it was a blast I can only imagine what the bike with both skis would be like have fun

ph34r.gif For anyone who is interested Durango Mountain Resort is going to host the International Ski Bike Festival on February 22-24. Events are: timed Giant Slalom gate runs, Best Trick/Air, and a 4 man MTN cross wacko.gif so wax em up. Check out their website (www.durangomountainresort.com) for more details. The MTN cross could be big this year, we got 8 feet of snow the first week of December and one storm a week since then so there is plenty of jump material blush.gif

That IS rad.

I was thinking about doing that mod about ten years ago...and still might.

Only:
I'd have a crankset and BB and pedals on it, no sprocket & chain naturally. I think you'd have TONS more comfort and control that way.
