Someone took my Loop PK out of my car yesterday. Whoever took it, didn't leave a scratch or a tear on my car. I am devastated! They could have taken ANY of my other bikes! Please keep your eyes peeled on ebay, and any NJ guys please look too! This is something I never experienced in my life before. Someone is going to get a nice bike for Christmas!

I got my car broken into three weeks ago. $3000 in DJ gear and irreplaceable music gone.
Then Billy Griggs got his house broken into. Two ultra rare one of a kind bikes (custom RRS and cutom GT) gone.
Now you.....
Tis the season?
Bummer.....
I'm sure we'll all be on the lookout.

just got a personal call from jon with the whole story. it was listed on craigslist, spotted and reported by some other vintage or os members in the loop. listed also as a retro se pk loop, they apparantly had mistaken it for a new retro pk ! jon called, offered a nice cash sum, and got the address, literally blocks from his home. got there , obtained the bike, questioned the kid as to where he got it, and he replied "his dad had gotten it for him" jon tried to grab him up, and he fled, and escaped. his buddy however was not so lucky, but jon was unable to do any "roughing up" as the cops were just minutes behind. bike all intact minus the padset, working on getting that back now. i had called jon personally tonight after reading this, as i was as sick as he was. i know just be reading his old posts years back how he loves that bike, and i had my baby, my first red anno race inc stolen when i was 13 , so i know how it feels. i am so happy for jon, and what a terriffic community we have !!! great job to everyone involved. happy thanksgiving everyone ! congrats jon.

Ok.....go get some popcorn and your favorite beverage!!!!! Are you ready???
First thing I want to send a MAJOR thanks to x50Crackerjack for his email....he was the first of MANY emails telling me to look on Craigslist.
I also want to thank EVERYONE else for their SUPPORT, EMAILS, PHONE CALLS. We ARE a Family, a tight nit one.....I am lost for words on how much I want to thank all of you guys. You guys rock!!!!! BMX Brotherhood!!!!
Ok, heres the story.......
I went over to my cousins to "party it up" and sorta drink my PK sorrows away. I got a call from Brett bmx2112, and was told to jump online because Mike (crackerjack) posted something on Museum, and Trilogy posted it as a link in the shout box here.....i hit the link, and it was a retro pic of a black/gold PK, but said it had a redline sprocket, but didn't know the size (cuz its hidden under the crank arm...DUH!)
I exchanged emails with him and found out he lives in Audubon, literally a town over and no lie live no more than 5 minutes away from my house!!!!!! We planned to meet at the local shopping plaza (well lit, and just felt safe to go there incase this was a set up) I then lcalled home and told my parents to meet me up there and be ready to call the PO PO. I waited about 30minutes and I saw 2 punk kids walking up with a bike...the lights hit the bike...the gold parts hit my eye (padset was missing :teary: ) ....i got out of the car, looked the bike over like i just found my holy grail and asked where he got it, he INSISTED that his father got it for him, i then asked where the padset was..... he answered that question WRONG... he answered "i don't know what your talking about" I asked again and then put the bike down and gripped him up, i pushed and pulled him around a bit and then he wiggled loose, and began to run, so did his friend.....the kid who actually stole my bike got too big of jump for me to catch him, but his friend didn't..... I caught his friend and threw him against the wall a few times (damn that felt good) and asked where his friend lived and where my padset was. He didn't want to rat his friend out....a few more slams against the wall...he ratted him out...then the cops pulled up... all the PO PO stuff asked and answered.... the cop went to the kids house, they called me and told me that he confessed to stealing the bike and also trying to sell it on CL. I then INSISTED the cops to ask where the padset was....he told the cops that he threw them over a fence before meeting up with me....i found the padset after searching in ivy and tons of leaves....this kid didn't just throw them over...he put the stem, framepad together, then took the stem pad and wrapped them up as a bundle.....i guess he was going to go back and grab them to sell them at a later time.....So here I am with my bike complete, there is some road rash to the rear of the kashimax seat, but its my rider....whoopee!
Thats my story....and im stickin to it..... :nana: :Praise: :Booyah:
THANK YOU EVERYONE....THANK YOU MIKE (CRACKERJACK) I WILL BE IN TOUCH WITH YOU, I OWE YOU THE WORLD!!!!!

Awesome you got it back!
I had a 83 nora cup gt that I worked my butt off mowing yards and wheeling and deeling when i was 13 buying the flight cranks and rims and all the other top of the line stuff to get it stolen in front of my friends house. It still makes me sick to my stomach thinking about it, 25 years later.

holy crap Jon !!!
So glad you got it back right away.
Back in 8th grade I left my prized Elf sitting outside a 7-11 without a babysitter and it got stolen. (stupidest thing I ever did). A few weeks later I walked into my local shop to look into ordering something new and the owner walks me into the basement, turns on the light and I see my Elf hanging from the ceiling with a repair ticket hanging on it. He says " I didn't know your last name so I couldn't call you, so I've been telling this kid I haven't had time to fix it yet. I was hoping you'd stop in to hang out. He said he bought it from you but he didn't know your name."
Turns out the idiot who stole my bike was trying to swap out my gt power series cranks for some flights.... and couldn't manage to get the bottom bracket for the flights pressed in. He also took off the decals and removed my elf pads to try to disguise it. Little did he know my name was inscribed on the stem shaft, seat post and bars ! Also, my wheels (black 1.5 7xs with blue bullseyes and blue nipples) were the deadest of dead giveaways.
[no, not this word either] actually gave the shop owner his real name, address and phone number. I sent the cops over there straight away and they got my missing parts back and his dad paid me the money to get everything back to original.

My best friend Dwight Jones' 1982 Patterson Long with Flights and Z Rims
got stolen out of my BIKE REPAIR CLASS at Dana Junior High School in San Diego back in 83'.
He lent it to me for the class. I was responsible for it.
Since it was on school grounds, the school paid about $500 to replace it.
They had a hard time believing a BMX bike was worth so much.
Never found the bike.....

I don't post much nowadays but I have to here. It is SOOO great that you got your PK back, Jon.
As many said, it ranks as one of the best ever feel-good stories posted here and shows that this community really cares.
I have never had a bike stolen from me but I still felt bad when I saw your original post, especially since it's a bike that has a real meaning to you.
I hope that punk will think long and hard before he tries to pull such a stunt again. What a douchebag.

Believe ME...that is the LAST time i will EVER leave a bike in my car. That kid could have cleaned me out, 250+ CD's along with a nice CD player. Honestly, the kid took the bike carefully out of my car.... with 28 inch wide SE bars, and the pedals were installed too!!!! He didn't leave a scratch or a tear in my car. I get to go to court soon..... little BASTID is going to wish he never even looked into my car!!!!!!!
