I have a few stickers that need to come off. Usually I can get them to peel away with WD-40, but these are breaking apart and will not peel. The glue is also some kind of NASA space shuttle tile adhesive and will not budge... what is a good way to remove stickers from painted surfaces without damaging the paint underneath?

... also, someone had posted a method of using soapy water or something like that to align new decals on a frame... Can someone please school me on this technique so I don't ruin a set of decals?

Thanks...

i have never used the soapy water trick.....just patience. i also believe that not all stickers were put on within a tolerance of half a millimeter.

but if you really must, here's a link to a download http://ajkbikes.com/catalog/index.php

measure the lenght for the steerer tube to the edge of the sticker and write it down. do this with all the stickers. Then I use a hair dryer to remove them and use goo gone to remove the sticky stuff left behind. Then wash the area and polish. Then lay out a dry run with the stickers and then pull the backing off and apply them.
