I just purchased a used pair of ACS Z-MAGS with a coaster brake. I disassembled the hub to repack the bearings and upon reassemling it, it is not smooth at all. Can anyone point me in the right direction with perhaps an exploded view or order in which the parts go back together. Also, I am not super familiar with these things. Can it be converted to freewheel very easily? Thanks, Brandog

What usually happens is ppl. (mostly ignorant kids) let the hubs go loose and they keep riding a lot on them. That makes the bearings out of round so when you take the wheel apart and put it back together it rolls worse than before due to the bearings being moved from their position they deformed in. If there is not too bad of damage to the cones or races you can just measure the diameter of the bearing and get new ones on the bay. They come in a little bottle in counts of 25 or 50 usually for pretty cheap. As for making the hub freewheel, look for a little conversion kit called an Un-Brake (by ACS or Suntour?)I believe they are called. You just gotta take the rear hub apart and add/take out couple pieces. It's not to overwhelming just like a little quick puzzle.
