L to R: OG Redline proline, OG Redline PL-20, Standard cruiser, me on my GHP, OG Schwinn sting w/ Son-lite turbo hubs, my white 07 looptail ripper, fat guy on a DK.

This was at our Derby City reunion this year

Who you calling fat BIT@h,,,Retro's are just stupid and are killing Old school BMX...

Lighten up that was a joke,
I think the retro's are cool, and they look good and also hold up well, even when sack is crashing them over the tabletop at derby city,
but even a bike made of plastic would hold up at the speed sack is going when he crashes

That's why you live in a van down by the river

With the weather getting nice, it's time to resurrect this thread.

Some 24" Quad action at the local skatepark.

Anyone else getting retro rad this year?

Jet Black
An early picture of Matt load testing an 84 XL TA we built , the Andy Patterson tribute/replica bike

Since then it has had some parts swapped around to get it closer to a newschool race geometry setup , using mostly oldschoold parts & gets raced in the "vintage bmx class" here. Matt kicks some serious ahhzzz on this sweet old bike & keeps up the Andy Patterson of throwing down some old school big air jumps during the races.

Oldschool #41 Haro plate at the gates.

Time to get blurry , as soon as the gate drops.

The other pix are seriously blurred & not worth posting , did you get _any_ clear pix of Matt hammering the pedals riding this 1984 classic Dirtboy ?

Race Inc dude
I love the retro quad 20"
I am considering one to race 4-5 times a year. No problems with strength? I wouldnt think so.
COASTY

Roger that. Almost every time I go riding with my son on my Kappa Starsky (looptail and twin top tubes) some kids start snickering. That usually changes to interested conversation when I start riding. Nobody around here rides flatland so they all go "Ohhhh...it's for flatland". Easy way for them to save face, cause I know they think it's an old piece of junk till I start busting tricks.

This is my 90's era Mongoose Expert that I built to look like the 85' I had as a kid. A great rider! And super light!

Another pic of it.

Let's try this again.

This was my 09' Retro Freestyler I built up w/NOS parts. Great rider but was hard to get my balance on it because of the angle of the top-tube. Ended uo selling it about a month ago.

Two of my kids riding their reverse retros ( old frames/new parts) at the skatepark a few weeks ago. It was my daughter's first time, hence the lack of air. I was still very proud of her, tho. cool.gif

I switched to an S&M 38 special. Unfortunately I cracked the Rtetro Jag Frame. The track is going good. We got thru our first year of racing here since our new track was built. Our first race of 2011 is supposed to be this Saturday but its kinda sketchy at this point. We are getting pounded by heavy rain right now. A few guys went to check on the track and they said its flooded with water.

Hopefully I can keep injury free this season. 2010 injuries for me were: dislocated elbow, 5 broken ribs, broken collar bone and 6 stiches on my shin. Speaking of injuries........Hows married life treating ya? Just teasing Larry!

Ha! I don't have that many broken bones... yet! She beats me up on a regular basis!
