What up peoples? So the other day Im in a local bike shop ordering some cranks for my Ripper, and as Im sitting there while my guy is thumbing through catalogs and what not. I spy a new Floval sitting on display, and go & sit on it, this being the first time I've ever been on a cruiser, I gotta say I really liked it. So how do these things feel as far as manuverability and what not? I mean I only ride 20"s right now and Im by no means hardcore anymore, but I do like the way I can bunnyhop/jump curbs, ride wheelies and stuff. So I guess what Im tryn 2 ask is am I still gonna be able to do these things on a 24", or am I gonna feel like Im riding a glorified mountain bike?

The 20" bikes are like the sports cars of the track while a cruiser is more like driving a truck. More stable feeling and more control which to you might seem like it is "slower" at 1st. The opinion seems to be that going from a 20 to cruiser is easier than the other way around.

They do feel different, but I really liked mine. It was a Shadow Invisible Man. Sold it in favor of, of all things, a new MTB... but that was a neat bike. I also have the 3-bar Powerlite 24" I built for my wife, but I ride it more than she does, LOL...

They're fun.

i have a 20.5TT (14inchish rear) cruiser that bunnyhops, jumps just like a 20inch bike. in fact, i much prefer it to a 20in bike nowadays.

I have one cruiser set up for jumping/park, and one for racing, I love riding them both.

Free Agent cruiser.. It's cheap and it rides perfect.. I raced mine this summer.. and it's the best...

You can do a lot of stuff on a cruiser.... but it doesn't turn on a dime quite as well as a 20". I like a 24" cruiser for jetting around and the bigger bikes are great if you plan to spend all day on it... If you want a bike to be a little more comfortable but yet tough enough to take anything you can dish out, get a 24" with tuff wheels on it. It will handle street thrashing and is good for a beer run too!

Cruisers are tons of fun. I have a Schwinn SS3 that I "race" and ride around town. It's not much fun at our sk8 park just because of the size of the park. I'm gonna get a MirraCo 20-40 this winter/spring to replace the Schwinn. I use my 20s at the park and to dirt jump. Easier to toss around for me.

Just got a midschool Mongoose Expert Pro cruiser after being out of racing for 20 years. I never raced cruiser back then so I am trying to get used to it. The thing I dont like is the inabilty to speed jump without using everything i got to get the wheel up over the jump.

Hey thanks for all of your input guys, I appreciate it. I decided to go for it, I ordered a 24" Quad, problem is I dont get it until May, but thats kinda ok also simply because that gives me time to finish the retro Ripper first, otherwise if I have them both at the same time my A.D.D wont allow me to get either one of them finished LOL. And I think that after its finished Im going to try my hand at racing for the first time in my life.

There is no way you'll regret getting a cruiser.. When I switch from 20 to 24.. I never went back.. still going strong on the 24... somes alot of the older guys now, just ride 24 also.. I'm so far ahead of my time..
