G'day Mark! Great to see you sign up.
Gary Winmill and i have a couple of Super L.A's over at your dads. Mines the silvery blue one with the crack in the seat mast (just below the seatpost clamp)
Be great to see you build up some of your families own bikes. I'm a big fan of your fathers work. He built some great bikes. Hope you have fun on the forums.

Yes early for sure, You or your Dad might be able to fill us in with the details. I was told there were only 4 or 6 24's made and a couple of 26's made.
Also I would like to make a warranty claim on the forks because they are bent

I will find the receipt
Thanks

Graeme Stevenson (Queensland)
SLA (Super Light Alloy)
Graeme Stevenson was involved in BMX racing on many levels; as a rider, official and an innovator as a frame manufacturer. Graeme was as well know for his frames as he was for his excentric outfits he would wear to the track, fortunatly his sence of "style" wasn't transfered to his frame designs. In the early 80's, along with SE Racing and Race Inc, he was one of few frame manufacturers in the world toying with Alloy as a substitute for crome-moly. He had much success across the country with his frames, especially in Queensland. With his reputation as a master frame builder he later went on to manufacture frames for other Australian companies in addition to SLA.

G'day from Warrnambool in South West Vic. I have an intersting bike that I hope someone can shed some light on! It is a Super L.A. Sidehack. I bought it off a mate who had it for around 10 years untill his kids grew out of it, just as my kids were growing into it. He had no history on it, except he got it at a garage sale and had replaced many bolt on parts as the good stuff had been repalced with junk parts, also, most of the bits he added were from other wrecked bikes he came across. Since I bought it I have replaced the front wheel with an Eagle(Made by ENKEI) front ALLOY wheel(no it is not a painted skyway!!), found an original sticker set which I got copied, replaced the 1 piece crank with a freshly polished 3 piece set and bear trap pedals, made 1 wheel cover(I plan to make more, or maybe full gaurds when time allows!!) and generally cleaned it up. There is still a few bits to do, but my kids still love riding it, as do heaps of other kids from the Warrnambool BMX club. It has the standard broken seat clamp(Warranty?????) The frame is a smaller size with the build No. SLA0512. I presume the hack is from factory as it is a very professional job, can ANYONE tell me more?? The plan is to keep working on it one little bit at a time, but as my kids(and everyone elses kids) love riding it it will never get a full "As new" resto, I just want to make a cool old bike reliable, fun and get enjoyed!! Thanks!! I will try to get some pics of it up when i work out how??

WoW! That is an odd one i haven't seen before.
I'm sure the boyz from SLA will chime in one day. He will tell you all about it i guess.
It's a rare beast for sure. Nice.
