You bid- you pay. What's the problem? I spent $100 on a ad and this is what I saw in my inbox this morning.
G'day mate, my 10 year old son got in 2 my ebay account & bid $19000 on your awsome pk ripper. I have tried to retract the bid but it wouldn't let me because it had only 4 hours 2 go. I am extremely sorry 4 this, I am. Is there some way that we can work out so that I don't get any bad feedback or stuff like that Pleas. I am very sorry & my son will be punished severly. You cannot do anything with less than 12 hours left! Hold that guys feet to the frie and file a no paying bidder complaint against him.

The kid just rendomly signed into ebay. Found a rare OK and entered a bid on it?? I am sorry if it really did happen like that, but if it were so random: how would the guy know and why did it take hom so long to let you know?

well certainly $19,000.00 is a little extreme for a P.K. Ripper and I could see letting the guy off the hook. But you're right that's what sux about ebay cause you ultimately are the one that is inconvenienced.

On another, not like ebay note I bought a frame & fork BIN with a few other items attached and when they showed up yesterday the bars that were in the picture but not the description were not. So instead of getting a great deal I paid maybe $5 too much. Memo to sellers: take the pics of the items that are for sale or clearly say NOT included in the description. Displaying the picture of items NOT included and then being silent about them in the description will never make buyers happy!

Contact eBay and get your fees refunded. Then list again. Mention the bonehead bidder in the new ad and make sure you add this person to your no bid list so they can't mess with again (if it was intentional).

By the way it was not $19,000 (Only milliondollarman could afford that one). He entered $1,900 for a complete PK. Honestly after this and the tread on the milliondallarman, I don't want to sell my PK anyway. Problem is now I am stuck with $100 in listing fees. Whatever.. Life sucks- buy a helmet right? I will eat the $100 and pretend that I went out for the night on the town and forgot about it. (That would help me to justify it). Then I will get on my Killer PK RIPPER (that I am glad did not sell now) and ride around the neighborhood in this crappy Chicago weather, puffin a fatty, and the smile on my face will convince the rest of my body to just forget it ever happened...

eBay does suck, but get your $100 back. I'd say the guy sucks and relist. But I'd never eat $100 on fees in this situation. File for a refund and take your wife (or girlfriend) to dinner. That is the single thign you can do in this situation. That and block him....

Tell him you will not give bad feedback if he agrees to cover the costs of your auction, otherwise be harsh on the feedback.

Words like 'deadbeat bidder', 'tyre kicker' etc tend to describe things well.

That's exactly what I told him, just to pay the fees and I will even leave good feedback. (Not like it matters his feedback is only like 1 anyway) It is partially my fault, I should have blocked bidders with less than 5 feedback ratings- but we all started somewhere so I like to be fair. See where it gets me. This is what is going to happen.... I am going to pay the fees, if I leave him bad feedback then he will do the same to me which I don't want. I highly doubt that this deadbeat will pay a penny. Either way I lose. I just rode my PK earlier and it really made me feel better...

I've had some right prick dealings on ebay recently, but have had plenty of good results also, so hang in there. There's plenty of good guys that want to deal in this hobby!

I would think you might be able to use those emails when you file with ebay, plus there are pretty serious threats there.

There is no son. He made an impulse high bid for a guaranteed win, it went higher than he thought (as he found out in the last hours) and got in over his head. I don't mind when people do that IF THEY PAY.

i still do not understand why you would pay the fee. just file a dispute. what is the big deal? it makes no sense for you pay. if someone was to pay fees when an item was never paid for i would not feel bad in any way for them. that would be stinking stupid. you have an option to file a dispute. do it.
