I've found this frame that is said to be an old FMF, but it looks exactly like a looptail PK Ripper. What I've seen of FMF stuff looks more like RaceInc frames. Also, the FMF stickers on it don't look old enough. I'm just looking for anyone who might know if any looptail PK Ripper frames were ever stickered up as FMF's.
Thanks for any help on this topic.

Jeff,
You nailed it- that is definitely a PK Ripper. The FMFs look like a Race Inc./ Laguna, but with diamond shaped dropouts, an oval in the gusset, and no brake bridge.
As far as I know FMF never sold Rippers with their decals on them, they were pretty much done with bmx when the Ripper came out.

That is definately a PK Ripper. Will have a PKxxxx serial number on the dropout. Remember this. Scot B owned FMF and they made bikes in 76-77. When that went under, Scot THEN started SE in late 77 but the PK Ripper wasn't available till 1979 and FMF was long gone.
The FMF frames were the same as the Race Inc RA7 pro frame and the Race Inc RA8 mini frame.

I knew Scot raced and worked for FMF, but I didn't think he owned it. I thought the owner was Don Emler?

Scot ran the BMX division of FMF. Yes FMF was owned by someone else but all the BMX decisions and designs were left to Scot. When the owner pulled the plug on the BMX side of the company, Scot started SE Racing.

Just as an FYI......I went and picked this frame up today. It's in darn good shape. No cracks, a few scrapes but nothing abnormal. I'm not sure if I'll be keeping this one or Ebaying it. Afterall, I AM trying to get out of this collecting hobby!
